"Well I had first heard about them from my time on New London, rumours in the underground, ghost stories..." her eyes sparkled with nostalgia, "They were the most villainous group in space, and to be completely honest, I aspired to meet one, and live"
She tipped her glass and looked thoughtfully down at her milkshake,
"Then I met Rosey and Harley, I was lucky, infact, thinking back on it, I was so naive..." she paused again, "Rosey taught me things... things to impress her, and I obeyed, she gave me a home amongst the Phantoms, she gave me a family, granted not the most conventional family..."
She sighed again and brushed her right hand through her hair, bringing the left hand up with it,
"I finally has a place I could belong, and a goal, their goal"
"A Goal which involves mindlessly killing people and inflicting suffering on them for your own distorted image of utopia is NOT what I call the goal of a sane person!", He replied, clearly getting angry.
"Did you enjoy your time with them!?", He said after a while, regaining control of his emotions.
"Do you enjoy mindlessly killing Navy operatives? Bounty Hunters? The people I killed, had it coming, they were as corrupt as the goverments in the houses, because they worked for the houses"
She set her empty glass on the table and sighed,
"I never said anything about creating a utopia, or becoming a part of it, we were merely puppets to a greater cause, there is alot of conflict in Sirius, and we were supposed to be stopping it"
She smiled sweetly again,
"But no, I did not particuarly enjoy my time with them, they merely lied to me, forced me to do their dirtywork, a Phantom named Gentle killed my best friend, for... no good reason"
"A Greater cause? Tell me about it." said Robert, calm enough now, and remembering that he was supposed to get information about the phantoms, not about the captive.
"How am I supposed to believe that, you were a member, it's inconceivable that they had you operating on such little information. Try racking your brains for more."
"That's the point, they're in your brains, I'm not one of them anymore, I lost the link when I ran" she paused for a moment, "They get into your head, they make you do these things, I shouldn't be alive right now, but by simple luck, I'm safe"
She stopped playing with the cuffs,
"I really can't tell you much about who gave us our orders, or the names of the other Phantoms, or even where the Phantoms reside, I know nothing. They probably hid this stuff from me on purpose, all I know is what they taught me, I know how to fly, I know how to fight, that training isn't going anywhere"
"I don't remember much, it mostly involved hitting seemingly random targets, making attacks unpredictable and hard to track. Although, when you piece them together, you get a much broader view of the actions"
She began examining her nails,
"You really won't get much out of me, I left all that behind, they make sure that information never escapes, by messing with your head"
