If you could rescale all the ships and stations in FL:

What size would you like the ships to be?
Would you like the sizing ratio between ship classes to be different? If so, how?
What size would you like the stations to be?

This is in relation to the current sizes of them. Eg 50% etc. Or some other form of measurement would be grand.
Just want people's thoughts on this for now.

Keep fighters and bombers as they are now, rescale planets, stations, and capships to be -much- larger. Planets especially.

Planets and other solar objects should be scaled up a huge amount.

The stations need more bulk than size, there's no space for holding the fighters in the docking bay. The tiny little 'Docking Boxes' that most stations have are a lil silly, and Even with the 'Fort' station (same type that west point is) there's still no place for where the weapons dealer and other stuff is. It makes no sense.

The only sort of station that really makes any sense are the type that have the many mooring points, (the interspace one outside of Manhattan). They have sufficent area to store said fighters, and the mooring points make very much sense.

Rightio, in general you want bigger stations and planets, alongside bigger capitals.

Scaling things up isn't an option, just scaling everything else down is.
If your battleship is now bigger than a freeport, it will be half the size of one, which makes the freeport automatically bigger. Etc etc.

But aye, these are the general ideas that I'm looking for. If you have any more specific values (Like half the size now etc) then just shout them out too.

battleships cruisers and gunboats should stay the same size, everything else, (if you look at the size of the windows on a bretonian capital ship and the cockpit on a bretonian fighter/bomber) should be ALOT smaller, at least 3 times smaller than they are.

When things are scaled down and weapon speeds remain same things become that much harder to hit.

What's the problem with scaling things up? Apart from needing new texture?

The idea is to make stations also seem bigger, which could be achieved by scaling everything else down.

Scaling up stations means re-doing all the multi-part ones.
Scaling up planets by themselves still leaves ships being massive compared to stations. Stations that are meant to hold hundreds when they can barely hold a couple of fighters.

I could scale up the planets if you want, that's easy with some new textures. Leaves the stations still being a bit oddly scaled though.

You should work it out from scale. Put fighters as a marker, then the person inside them as another marker, from those you could work out how big a station needs to be. Planets just being much bigger by default works, but this also means systems become smaller, so they would need to be redone into Newcastle like size.

What I mean with the marker is, get a front view of a typical sized fighter and a front view of a to scale man standing up, then from those you can work out how big the stations need to be to fit these people into decks of the station aswell as hangars for the fighters.

Keep all ships like fighter and bombers the same and then make capitol ships, freighters, space stations, and natural objects (e.g. planets, stars) really, really big. It feels weird that some capships are close to the size of planets and that only like 4 fighters could realistically fit into the Liberty Dreadnought. It would take a ton of work to retexture but think about running into a battleship patrol and when you fly in between 3 Osirises you really get that feeling that you are a little fighter. Kind of like the scale of fighters to capships in the intro sequence to star wars episode 3.

I think things should be left as they are. If we scaled up stations and planets, then we'd have to scale up systems. How'd you like Newcastle and Colorado to be your small-average sized system? Fun huh?
