It had been a long time since Sophie'd actually tried to earn credits. Positive balances were for the poor, and for companies. She was neither. A pair of years stealing ships, hauling cargo, and building a fortune in rogue stockpiles and Maltese plantation shares, and a certain Daumann expense account...ever since then, it had been entirely about investing properly...and that was about hiring the right investment firms, and that was simply taken care of by dropping a top partner level credit line in Roppingi's IC Headquarters.
That's why this wasn't about the money. Nothing, ever, could be about something so insignificant as credits again. Still, she had thought three hundred million credits would have turned some heads...and that damn Port had been bottled in 57 AS. Had to count for something, the last bottle of the first harvest of Port on London. Somewhat bitter, of course. And rather over-watered...But it wasn't exactly for drinking, now was it? A collector's prize piece, London Port, 57 AS, Bottle 11. Maybe she should have sent a card...
Well. Anyway...the responce was less than Stirling...she glanced at it once again, reasonably miffed that she didn't have what she wanted...yet:
Comm ID: Sir Andrew Maloney, Acting Director of Operations, Borderworld Exports.
Message Source: Planet New London, Spaceport accountancy complex.
Message Target: Lady Julietta Windsor-Wilhelm; London Windsor-Wilhelms Hamburg Branch.
CC: Sale of the Royal Liner Henry VIII
I am unsure as to where exactly this request has come from, but I am afraid I must decline it. The Royal Liner Henry VIII has a massive value to Bowex and the Crown that exceeds mere material credits. The vast cultural and fiscal investment that it holds makes it a historical bank that must be available for future generations of the Bretonian public.
If you desire to inspect the Liner up close, and admire the workmanship that went into it's contruction, I can certainly patch you through to our accountancy division for the purchase of a ticket for the upcoming museum opening celebration. After this historic event, the ship will of course take it's place in New London's orbit, where it will be open to booked tours. I'm sure a woman such as yourself would certainly qualify for one of our VIP bookings.
If you must possess a Royal Liner, I would suggest contacting the BMM for purchase and reproduction rights of partial blueprints. From there you could either take them to the shipyards of Rhienland or Liberty for fabrication, due to the strain placed by the war closing our own ports to public construction.
I thank you for your time, if disappointed we could not conduct business.
Yours
~Andrew Maloney.
But Sophie always got what she wanted. So, too, did Lady Julietta Windsor-Wilhelm. She'd have to do something about that ship.
