I'd like to hear your opinions on two things regarding the future Discovery mod release.
First of all, do you want player looting - losing all guns, ammo, whatever equipment you had when killed? This is a feature for many other large mods, and as Discovery is getting closer to them with 4.78, I thought that we might consider getting it too.
Second, how many starting money in your opinion is suitable for Discovery servers? I'm not intended to make starting money for our server too high, to preserve the original Freelancer development curve. However, on other servers there might be need for more. And even on ours, I have doubts on what starting money to set - 2500, like now, 4500, or maybe 8500.
I think player looting is a good idea but not for mounted equipment, that is too extreme. It does seem to work OK on the other servers I've seen. Maybe a vote? I'll start one off if you like.
Starting money, well I think it's fine as it is, but 3K max at current prices. I think the starting money should be enough to fully equip the Starflier with whatever is available at Manhattan, or buy the next ship after one or two missions or a trade run.

im not up for loosing weapons, but all ammo + commerse + bats/bots is reasonable
Evo does that, whn you die you lose all ur equipment, reall annoying to, one of the big problems is players leave the server because they have to start all over again from step one, and don't feal like doing it. Now if players could pillage loose equipment that would be fine.
The biggest example would be Capital class ships, Loosing tens of millions of dollars in Turrets, SB and Nanos is a real setback. Id say No just be able to pillage any loose equipment
As for the Starting money, id say enough to bye one ship higher, like a starblazer or startracker, that would be a good Middleground to start at.

Crossfire has/had it, but I think only for certain types of ships. Monkey Universe is another. (Discovery fans, I don't recommend these mods, I don't like them!).
I seem to remember it being on others but it really only comes into play if you're attacked and killed.
If it's used, I'd prefer player looting on all ships and regardless of whether it was an npc or pc that does the killing. But no looting of mounted guns, everything else is fine.
Players in trains though really have little to fear from looting, it's near impossible to steal cargo, unless a fighter with a cruise disruptor teams up with a battleship.

10k of starting money seems fine. You can equip the starflier with this amount...
looting is ok, but not mounted equipment. It's annoying to loose tens of millions of equipment....
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
I DO NOT like losing all my ammo, nanobots, and shield batteries.
I feel VERY strongly against this, and most likely would leave the server if this happened. (I die too much for one....)
I am in favor of what it is now; loose equipment, and commodities.
As for money.... Around 5000 credits. Thats enough to put some weapons on a starflier, but not enough to get the next ship up. At least I think.
