Hello. I have a friend who used to play on the server and who I convinced to play again. He booted up Freelancer, and it wouldn't let him connect to the server... or any other server.
We re-downloaded the mod and re-mounted it on FLMM. It downloaded the update, and it still will not let him connect.
Right click on the Freelancer shortcut>Properties>Click the "shortcut" tab>In the "Target:" box write after .exe " -s87.72.29.113:2302"
[without quotes].
His Freelancer shortcut properties should look like this.
EDIT: If this doesn't work tell him to check his internet connection for any problems. Oh and send him "Welcome to the Discovery community" from me:).
"Sorry, but but the connection could not be established to that server. This is usually caused by a server going offline in the attempt to connect to it. It may also be caused by internet problems. Please try again later."
This is the message that is popping up. We tried Varok's thing, but it didn't work, unfortunately. Any more help, please?
He says that he doesn't have any anti-virus or firewall up.
I have two connections: one it's via modem and one is directly with cable. That thing happen to me few weeks ago while I was playing on the direct cable connection(the internet was working perfect, just FL had the problem) and then I swamped to the other connection and it worked perfectly. Now I'm playing on the direct cable connection again and it works good.
Ah, solution found. Somehow, Kasperov got re-installed on his computer without his knowledge. We suspect his brother. Thanks for the efforts, everyone.
No, he had Kasperov somehow re-installed on his computer. We uninstalled it again, and it all worked out. We were playing earlier tonight. Thanks for the concern!
