Of all the Spyglass models I have seen thus far, this one looks the most promising. It has Libertonian, Hellfire Legion, and Lane Hacker elements.
It has my seal of approval.
Also, for all of those who are asking "where is the Liberty?" What's your definition of Libertonian? A massive axe on the front? Look at the midsection of the ship.
As for "Not being like the current Spyglass" that's entirely the point. The current one is an ugly imported PoS model. We HATE it.
' Wrote:Really does not look like it is Hackerish. To much like what is already in game, and no where close to the old spyglass. Looks more like a cruiser to me.
Excellent model there. Looks more in keeping with what we want the shipline to be, and there's real echoes of the Libertonian roots of the vessel. This gets my vote, when compared with the other models that have been put forward.
All the old knives, that have rusted in my back, I shall drive deep into yours.
There's a part of my mind crying out that this is perfect for the Spyglass, but I'd prefer to hold off on judgement for now. Would it be possible to get views from a few more angles?
Characters Alan Markson: The Hellfire Legion's Lord Commander The Perihelion: Freeport Four's guardian, and yet much more. Missing and assumed Lost with all hands. Eric Dresmund: Junker, smuggler, thief. Last seen drunk on Beaumont Vayrn Wyard: IMG Recon pilot turned Neo-Terran Captain. Last location unknown
I am not a modeler. I cannot express my ideas to my satisfaction outside of a verbal form. Even so, I've spent a great deal of time over the last four years looking at Freelancer vessels, and they've a distinctive form which I feel I've come to know.
I'm worried that your models are going the way of Jinx's models, in fact, I detect quite a many nuances in familiar. The curving nose which is so ubiquitous to Jinx's designs, for instance, and the twirl I'm calling the dragon's beard.
You've seemed to draw away from the stylized art-deco formats of the liberty capital craft in your recent spyglass, which is, after all, a stolen liberty craft, and would hopefully be implemented as a LSF vessel as well as a hacker vessel if this model went through.
Specific details that worry me about this ship are the number and odd assortment of engines, rather than the tight core of four present in the cruiser, or the large ring engine of the Dread and the Osirius, and around the rearmost engines the crenelation style protrusions of the hull.
In the same vein, the protruding satellite dishes are almost comical, and rather cartoonish. Such dishes would, for one thing, have extremely limited fields of view, considering the space. Large dimples along the hull would make better sense, using either magnetic copulas or a physical protrusion in the center, but not the direct shape of a modern dish.
Finally, the hallmark radiating hex and octagon designs of the art deco feel are embarrassingly absent from what is supposedly a liberty built ship.
It looks way more like a replacement of Order Resheph to me, but it is promising. Spyglass, I don't think they have similarities with this model. I liked the initial design though, only the antennas are a bit too much "today" ish rather than "future" ish.
Mouth Shot, just try what I am suggesting when you have time.
Make only one engine area. Make the ship wider, and shorter and remove one of the satellite dishes.
Nooblet, I was thinking the same on increasing/decreasing the size of it and also removing the satelitte that is on top of the engine. I will tak your words.

I don't get your point:mellow:
You seem to type a huge paragraph that sometimes gets me lost of what you are saying.
