Switch character revenge for their trader..

ok...1 more problem on the sever.....when i was pirating with my TBH firend(yes..we love pirating..)...and we go to Tau-31 to do piracy...and we trying to kill a P-CLS's tarder because he don't want to pay money...but that route is very short..so he escape..dock at planet harris...and departing player: P-CLSXXX
New Player: P-CLS.....guss what....he switch to his BS character........if trader did that...is hard to use SS to proof they did that.....so...any one have good sugguestion if trader do something like that?..:rtfm:

If the ship was on the same base, and belongs to the same faction, or both ships are aligned so they are friendly to each other, he can do it.

Now, If the above conditions are not met, then we have a violator..

...Defending against an attack isn't pirating, so yes the BS can give you cover. Just keep the thing far away when you are pirating.

Hmm... I don't like where this is going...

Korrd didn't say all switching is okay. He just said switching to another character who met the criteria he gave is allowed. That being: Ship was on the same base and in the same faction or aligned friendly to the original ship. This certainly doesn't mean a person who just died in battle can go grab another ship and start shooting the guys who killed him.

Granted, in the case X-Lancer outlined, if the battleship launched from Harris and is in the same faction (Same tag, at least) or in a faction friendly to the trader, then I see no problems, according to Korrd's outline. The trader didn't die on his way to the planet, so it was entirely possible he could find his buddy on the surface and send him out to battle. If anything doesn't match up, send the report and screenshots in.

I was with X-lancer we told the guys to halt and hand over 4 mil he dock quickly and changed to a battle ship came back out and began to shoot at us. i always though helping your own char was against the rules????

nope, everything that happened there was by the rules...

Trader docked on harris, switched to his battleship that was docked on harris and after undocking attacked pirates. Both his chars were under same (faction) tag. Other trader remained in his trade ship. No rules were broken here.


In hypothetical situation. Untagged trader cant switch to taged fighting capable ship to do revenge upon pirates. Also if taged trader is attacked, untaged char from same person cant go on revenge.

So rules are quite clear here: Only trader with faction tag can get help from another fight capable ship from same faction. (by get help i mean it can switch to another of his ships that are docked on same base and attack pirates. Naturally trader needs to dock before does this...F1 in space is very big NO NO).
All traders can get help from other players if they ask for it. But in situations mentioned above they cant switch to another char for revenge.
