I've been playing the Disco mod for a little over a week now. When I first started, I was the true meaning of a Freelancer. I took jobs from anyone that paid well.
However, now I have a trading vessel and a trading ID (because trading is quite fun). The tag in front of my name says Police. I would like it to more closely match my trader ID.
I know that I can make factions like me less or more in order to get the tag that I want; however, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to take missions anymore (so I can abort them of course) with a trader ID. I'd appreciate any help anyone could offer me...
As far as I know.. u can take missions and abort them to lose a reputation with a faction.. (correct me if I'm wrong admins, mods..) then u can do missions and give bribes to get in good with a particular faction u want... hope this helped...

Yes you can do all the things that Ron listed. Now there are plenty of factions you can fly as to trade. Just find the one you want to be and go about your business...

I disagree on this. If you're trying for a trader tag, shooting a police depot will not only get the police mad at you, but any friendly trader factions as well, defeating the purpose.
Just land on the home planet of the faction you're trying to rid yourself of, and do the mission abort routine. In the long run, it'll make your life easier.
I did the mission abort thing for about 5 minutes or so, and it worked pretty well. I am not with the trading company that I really want to be with, but it is a trading corporation, so I think I'll be fine.

Actually your wrong, it will makes 95% of all factions neutral, only a couple of pirate factions stay hostile, which as a trader is good.
Believe me ive done it alot of times;)
It also leaves you with no tag which is good for a neutral trader.
Just make sure you buy the id before you do it because you wont be able to buy it after.

I tried the aborted mission thing and it didn't affect my reps a bit. :-(
