So let's say you just mined out 5k gold ore, and in pops the Bretonian gunboat with civilian ID and blows you to pieces.
You file a report and wrap it up nicely. He gets sanctioned and you lost hour and half and 80million?
His gunboat worth half that got erased he got banned. Sure he's got his justice, but sometimes it just doesn't motivate you enough.
Cargo and ship types can vary. My question is clear enough anyway
I am sad to hear that you had a bad experience and all, but somehow I don't get the question now?
You want compensation for your loss?
Take a break, get out to breath some fresh air.
Do some sports and then come back.
Suddenly this incident is forgotten and you are happy again.
There is nothing you can do about a handfull of people not playing along by rules.
They either change, or will be gone soon enough.
A pity it always needs someone to be wronged at first, but that is the only way you can spot them.
I wasn't wronged that much. It just seems sad that all the cash that got erased from their accounts just goes to waste.
Offering a recompensation for lost cargo would certainly make reporting some sanctions seem better.
Actually I cool off fast and it takes alot to piss me off. But I can see the cons of offering cash for reports as well, and I just don't know what is better. A tap on a shoulder and reported sanctions, or maybe more than twice more reported sanctions but half of them false ones form people faking the cargo loss to get re compensated.
EDIT: I just take this game too personally sometimes. Do not get me wrong, that doesn't mean I don't think it's more than a game. I just get upset when someone clearly disregards rules, uses dirty tricks and intentionally and willingly breaks rules to break people's enjoyment.
It isn't just about this game, I am freaking out about people not giving turnlights when they are driving. It just shows they're not involved in what are they doing and that they're self centered and selfish, thinking about themselves first and then, maybe, about other people. Depends on their mood.
Another thing that is sad is that some people don't have that much time to play, and once they can, if this happens it gets them out of their focus and its time, as you say - to relax.
While those that have wronged can play for some time before long hand of admins catches with them.
It's not a critique towards Admins, I believe they do their job well, they have proved it recently (Thanks hoodlum, athenian for omegas assistances), but it's just something that adds up to the situation.
While I can, to a limited degree, see how you might want to be reimbursed for your losses from the account of the offending party, this is a can of worms we really don't want to open. It would turn sanctions into lawsuits.
Ivan, I get you being angry. It's easy enough to happen in this game. I don't see compensation ever happening, but I wouldn't mind if the sanctions were changed a bit to reflect the injury done to another player in this case.
People could simply abuse this compensation... plus there would be more false/useless/set-up reports.
I think I take this game -really- personally. I mean, if some hogosha ID'd BWT tells me to get out of Kusari because I don't belong there (or if anyone tells me that for that matter...) my first thought is to blast that arrogant idiot of the sky (metaphorically). That's probably why I file so many reports (or at least I think I do...)
Anyway, I wouldn't even want to have some pay-backs for the losses. I was killed after all. If I had, say escorts, that wouldn't have to happen.
Well in my certain situation, I actually pirated the gold. (yeah i know, BOOO HISS ANGRY PIRATE)
Then miners reloged to their outcasts, who they parked 5k away. I had a bomber friend, and we downed them after a fight.
They caught up with us again and blew me up. Cap8 can hold only for so long against bomber and a fighter.
Again, sorry for this, and it will only give some people wrong ideas. As an starter of the topic, can I ask for it's Lock or possibly delete?
