I am not sure what to make of events 16 hours prior to sending this message but I shall report them as I saw them
As ordered I went out on predesignated patrol route, As I was flying around the new berlin star a new contact appeared on radar. Naturally I followed it where it attempted to escape.
Thanks to superior engine grades I was able to catch him as well as disrupt his cruise. Apon checking the database on board the ship I found him to be a known hessian.
I then reported him on the system chat in an effort to alert traders and other militants. None the less 3 militants arrived and claimed to have the scene under control, I then proceeded on my patrol. Apon reaching the next station I saw a second hessian contact flash on radar and disapear.
I reported this to the militants from earlier and did a search of the immediatte area to no avail. Apon coming around for my patrols second sweep I found dat the militants and the pirates to be in combat. I was ordered to stand down so I attended in an observational capacity.
A third hessian appeared and joined the fight. Not long after one of the militant ships took a hit and the pilot ejected. The fight continued. As time was passing it appeared the hessians were winning. I then engaged and was ordered to stand down again. The fight still seemed to be swinging in the hessians favor when more militants arrived. These they asked to assist. I have no idea why.
I must point out this militant was not tagged with the RN tags. The hessians disengaged at this point and flew into the ice cloud, the militants who I had a look at now were tagged "RM" did not give chase but let the hessians leave without loss.
Perplexed I decided to finish my patrol and headed for stuttgart. Here I ran into a group of two hessians holding the gates and inhibiting trade. When I arrived the fled. I was fortuneate to catch them. I called for assistance from the RM tagged militants who I last saw were asking civilians to fetch gum for them?
None the less I enegaged the two hessians, a fighter and a bomber. A fierce battle ensued. Later a third hessian arrived and ordered the bomber to stand down claiming the fighter needed the experience. It was a matter of time before the younger pilot's ship was destroyed. I suspect our training is superior to that of the hessians but I have yet to fight a hessian veteran.
Out of ammo, low on supplies I engaged the two remaining hessians. The bomber was on her last legs when a shot from the figher hit my engines and forced me to eject. I should point out these battles lasted quite a while and the backup I had requested failed to arrive. Reviewing my logs after the battle I saw a one line message claiming to have found no Hessians. This was 7 minutes into the fight with the bomber and fighter. To have responded would have meant certain death, I am sure of this.
I am now requesting a new wraith fighter and it explains why I am not giving this report in person.
This is Heilmgut reporting in.
It is with a heavy heart I send this message to you. I'll start at the beginning.
I started my routine patrol of New Berlin when there was a call to all navy ships in the area. This was for an invasion on Liberty and I signed up. I signed up alone.
The ship I went with was the RHC-Oldenburg under Captain Fredick. I must tell you I admire this man.
None the less we went just the two of us. Our target was the Texas system. When we arrived there was little to no mentionable defence it was later that a the liberty Vessel Nespresso Battleship came to fight.
The fight was a long one where Fredick used superior tactics to make an impact with his less significant vessel. Keeping vessels out of reach while firing long range guns. I would like to point out that some local pirates joined our assault. I dont know what prompted them to attack their own with such force and leave us but it would most likely ave been a short fight if it were not fir them.
None the less the battle was heated and I remained with the Oldenburg in case of bomber threats while he continued to pound their larger vessels from a safe distance.
As the fight progressed the Nespresso was under heavy pressure and summoned all the help it could I suspect. I think the final count was 6 cruises, 2 battleships and an assortment of gunboats and fighters. None the less Fredick continued to fight the good fight. Eventually sheer numbers was beginning to overpower him. I managed to disrupt some of the cruisers who were after him but it was only delaying the enevatible. The 3 cruisers and a gunboat managed to trap him behind planet Texas. I did everything I could but to no avail.
It was clear the ship was lost.
Unflinchingly Fredick got all his crew to the hardpoints of the ship and threw full engines at the planet. Before going down he ordered me to retreat which I did.
The silence was nerve wracking as I had come to admire this man and his style. His tactical use as well as his attitude. I was leaving the system when I was thrilled to hear his voice over the coms again. He told me to get back to the Rhineland and to report what had happened. He also sent me the ID code of his inverted tracking beacon.
I gave this ID to our special forces back on Berlin who have dispatched special forces crews to retreive him and his crew. They told me his Beacon would be untrackable to all but those who have the ID as it scrambles millions of potential signals all over the planet and only my ID was the correct one.
My offer to help them was turned down.. no actually they told me to get lost really and leave them to their jobs.
I'm not convinced all his crew landed on the surface safely so my condolences to their families.
I am putting in a request to be considered for a bomber as I feel I would be more use on such missions.
I am pleased to report that Liberty lost 3 Capital ships. This I beilieve was due to Fredicks superior command and the pirate bombers.
