#1 FL Server

Post here why you think this server has grown to be the number one modded server in the Freelancer Universe.

Heres my opinion:

When I first dusted FL off a few months ago and discovered the whole modding community I tried a few different mods and servers (I will name none of them ;)). Wasn't really getting into them, I finally tried Discovery and loved it. One of the main reasons why was that it didn't go overboard with the add-ons and extras. Most of the other mod's started to seem so unlike FL that it didnt even feel like FL anymore.

Then I discovered all the intricacies of the server and this forum, and what can I say... Im hooked.

Definitely this community brings the discovery server above the others. I was so warmly welcomed and wasn't treated like a dumb n00b (though I tend not to do noobish things, just ask noob questions:crazy:). Also, agreeing with AC Merc, this mod keeps true to the original game. Awesome job guys and THANK YOU!

What has made this server the most active is not really the mod. But the carefully crafted community and the role play behind it all. And the fact that the mod is made to bend with the RP and the RP can bend to the mod. And the fact that because of our not going overboard. There is always a new idea to talk about. And because of our community here. There is something worthwhile to come back to. To put it simply, if we had no community there would be no reason to get on the server. Knowing that there are people there capable of putting their differences aside and playing together.

I mean where can I play a game with so many people from different countries at once?

If you ask why this server has made it, its because of the community. 100% about the community. People make everything work.

About the mod, its because it has managed to take vannilla FL and make it into what vanila SHOULD have been.

Because like Verg and Tank said, we have a community, that even when Wolf couldn't host the server anymore, and when the CCE hosted the server just to get admin rights, and we were stuck without a server for several weeks, the weak left, and the core of this community stuck together.

I'm proud to be part of Discovery.

I gotta put my vote in with the community. I've seen some good communities before but this one is amongst the top 3. Just today I was looking for a way from Cambridge to Omicron Theta and 3 separate people along the way helped me.

I've been playing for a week and I've already got nearly 60 mil. This place is excellent.
