hi all, i'm pretty new at all this mod stuff so please bear with me - if this is in the wrong section then somebody please delete it and tell me where to move it to, thanks everyone.
okay my problem:

im working on vista
have only just bought freelancer so i am level 1 on the first bit
downloaded the mod (mainly for the firefly)
after adding it i went on and it seemed to be working fine - but when i try and do the first mission i cannot end it - i go into the trade lane with the USV BRANDT and King, and the trade lane is disrupted - but no pirates arrive so i am stuck there.
i tried it many times, but it just wouldnt work, so i tried getting the update 3 - however this wouldnt work at all.
so i decided to complete the campaign without the mod, then do the discovery campaign and all the download extras afterwards, so i unistalled the mod - however it is still active? i have uninstalled and reinstalled freelancer itself - and this still happens - even though the mod is deleted?
it did tell me to make a backup file - but i didnt because i had done this on my now dead xp, and after uninstalling the mod the backup files werent needed - so on my vista i didnt do it.
what i need help in is to know how to either fix the game so i can just play the basic freelancer until i have completed the campaign, or that the pirates will arrive, or that i can download update 3 or something

i also posted this on the moddb site which is where i found out about the mod - i pretty much bought the game just to fly a firefly (browncoats!).

4.85 is not compatible with the campaign. You'll need to either deactivate the mod and play Vanilla, or activate an older version of Discovery if you want to play the singleplayer game.
Also, did you uninstall or deactivate the mod when you tried it? You said 'uninstalled', but did you deactivate it with FLMM? If you didn't, that's your problem.
If the problem still persists, deactivate everything with FLMM, uninstall FLMM, delete the mod folder, uninstall Freelancer, delete the Freelancer folder, then reinstall Freelancer and play the campaign.
Do everything that Dab here politely and helpfully said, after which I recommend installing FLMM again, the latest Discovery mod, and coming here to have fun with us in the game and on the forums.:)

haha thanks for the fast response everyone - gunna try some of these out asap - didnt know that you couldnt play the normal campaign with the mod - when you say older version is there a specific one or should randomely guess?
Randomly guess, really. 4.84 supports the campaign but it might get buggy and is difficult at times. Perhaps 4.83?
But really, the campaign is fun in vanilla only. Perhaps you can find a mod that's there specially to just enhance the SP Campaign experience, though I can't really recommend any.
