My Freelancer is bugged out.

Alright, i had to reformat my computer lastnight, and i went to install freelancer again with discovery mod, and when i click multiplayer>internet the MP Code shows up, but i already have my old code before i reformatted my computer. so i delete the new one and start trying to type in my old one.. but the only letters that work when i type it in is ADF and E , everything else comes up as this little symbol - i already tried reinstalling but it didnt help at all.. how can i fix this so i can play again?. i dont want to make new Multiplayer ID because il lose my characters..

Just type your code in a, lets say, word-doc, copy it, and paste it in fl? No idea if this works.... good luck.

That is an odd problem.

Usualy you should use FLAM (Freelancer Account Manager) to back up your accounts.

There is a way how you can add the key to the Fl registry but dont ask me where.
Maybe some of the folks who know drop by, since I am sure a few know that trick.

Freelancer account codes use the hexadecimal system, so there are 16 digits represented by 0-F, where F=15 in the decimal, or base 10 system, which is the most commonly used (except by computers, which use binary of course). So if whatever you have copied down has any letters in it that arent A-F, you copied down the wrong thing.

If this is the case, A&L Guy might help you transfer your characters to a new account, I'm not sure if he does anymore though, he may have been swamped by too many people asking.
