A DDoS is a Distributed Denial of Service attack, basically involves a number of compromised computers (e.g. a botnet) being ordered to repeatedly send garbage packets to a given IP address.

This particular one isn't possible to block. The repeated ping requests are, but the one hitting us is literally billions if not trillions of useless UDP packets.
