This is the first model that I've completed the texturing on to date, quite happy with the way it looks, and it'll most likely be going in another mod of mine.
I was just about to say "where does it fit in Disco" but then I acquired points in literacy.
It's a bit... basic. It does look like an actual rapier, but the frontal intake is a bit jarring- though I could also see it looking awkward if it came to a point. Have you tried it with a tapered edge, at least? Just to see what it looks like?
I love that spoiler with the 2 small engines on it. Im disappointed about the 'basic shape' with no very many details. The texture its pretty nice, also the model is a good one.

It's also been serving as a turf war of sorts over 'who gets what ships'.
This is not good.
Sorry. I'm in a bad mood. Moving on.
I'd say it seems a little... Top-heavy. Almost like the feeling of seeing somebody parachuting when you look at it (top-light, then?). Or a ballerina, but they have legs, so um... Nevermind. I'd say add something on the bottom; perhaps an extra engine. I think a trapezoidal shape would work. Have one end of the trapezoid flat (so I guess a trapezium) and have the slanted end running a partial the length of the ship.
It'd make a sort of 'weight' on the bottom of it to balance the airy feeling above.
-Edit- Oh yes. I like it, by the way. Just reminds me of Mary Poppins and laughing when I see it.

Mate, this was a vision of mine that I never got done, glad to see someone had the same vision. Good job, needs some details (textures) but it's excellent for a first timer. About people saying it's basic - that's the beauty and genius of the design.:)
