For those who are not aware, probably 10% of our members are unable to easily see red and sometimes green. I've finally found time to address this issue.

I'm adding an option to the game "-nored" which as the name suggests swaps the red colour used on the hud with another colour. The current red colour in RGB hex is 8B1D1D. What colour should this be replaced with?

Post your suggestions in RGB hex please. Here's a good converter: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

I might allow the group, new/departing message colours to be replaced as I have trouble seeing these sometimes too. Make a suggestion for this as well.

Remember the replacement colours must look different to other colours used and ideally not be annoying.

Color for hud:

Dark Purple (few systems with that color)
Code: #910062

Depart/arrive:
Gold/Yellow
Code: #958f2e

Color for Menu backgrounds (if that wiill need a separate color)
Light "alien" green
Code: #83cf29

EDIT: IF you want to see these colors in "action".... send me some screens were you think these colors might conflict with the background and i shall do some photoshops untill its more player friendly

will this mean that that shade of red is gone forever? for hostile bases, fighters etc? no more "is that red? i'm not sure, it could be green. omg! run! they is hostilez!" which is pretty much what happens when i play.

if so, i <3 cannon

can we lose the pink for group chat? i can't tell if its white or what. can we make it either pinker or bright yellow?

Can we make it so that you can choose colours for each text, since everyone's colour-blindness is different?

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

I believe this with a few set templates which covers the most "standard" colors would be a better option.

May be if something could be done about the targetting reticule.

That would help greatly....

May be a SHIFT +F10 to toggle thru different color options.

Thanks you are doing a great job.

A varying choice of colors would be great as some of the above posts mention.

I thought these would be nice potential colors:

Apply eugenics via Freelancer! Those who cannot see that red is dead shall perish! Right after I start up my generic villainous superweapon with an impractical charge up time and a very inaccurate clock! Bwahahahah!

But seriously, this is good. I might think about making another shortcut for when I'm in the Omegas, that red crosshair is pretty worthless in the Walker Nebula.

I almost want to suggest a white crosshair, but it would make Tau-37 and ice nebulas rather difficult (for extra artificial difficulty, try using that white crosshair to land battle razors against Sabres while in Tau-37 with bloom on). Gold is my second thought, for which I recommend FFF000 (not FFFF00, which is solid yellow). It may be piss-colored, but I can't think of anyplace that it would be -impossible- to see. Dublin might be about as fun as the Walker Nebula is with a red crosshair, but it'd be doable, I think.

I agree with Sov (not on the eugenics part). #FFF000 is a very noticeable colour and isn't very much used. It could work.

Cue the colourblind lolwuts: "PISS IS DEAD ENGAGING"

Retired, permanently.
