Installing Freelancer on Windows 7

Hi there, I am having trouble installing Freelancer on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

The installer reaches 40% and then shows this message. Help?

Freelancer Serup encoutered a disk error while writing to the file C:Users\Administrator\Desktop\data\a...\rvp121.utf.
Make sure your hard difk is not full, and that the file is not in use.

Follow this Procedure:

1- Uninstall everything that has the Name FL or is comapatible with FL out of your computer (Ex. FLMM, FLAM, Discovery 4.85 mod file, FL Triology (Original Game), and etc.)

2- Restart your Computer. After rebooth, Install Freelancer (Game).

3- Download/Install FLMM and Discovery 4.85 (run both as Adminastrator)

4- It should work. If not, well - I am afraid you got to wait till someone comes and explain to you another way.

1) It's has NEVER been installed before.

2) Nothing related ever installed.

3) I have it installed on a different computer, should i transfer the program files over??

What about the installation path? Try not to install it to C:\program files\ ... or even on system dick
That could be a problem with UAC.. perhaps?

C:Users\Administrator\Desktop\data\a...\rvp121.utf.

Anyway i see you talking about Freelancer game, not about mod. So, maybe your disk or image of disk is broken.

Yes, W7 has an issue with FL and FL related programs.
Installing to your documents usually fixes this.

When i got my new comp. last month i had same problem. So i just transfered the whole thing from my old comp. to my new 1. seem's to work fine so far. You will need to same your accounts before doing so, and still remod it.

Run the Freelancer Setup.exe as an administrator.

Install to Documents (C:\Users\<you>\My Documents\Freelancer)

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.
