if this topic is in the wrong place, then by all means, please move it

anyways, how do i disable the mod safely without losing any of my ships for the servers?

i wanna try out freeworlds, and i don't wanna lose all my characters on disco.

Cyclops: Oh, really? When next the opportunity presents itself, remind me to drop a truck on him.
Xavier: Cyclops.
Cyclops: A big truck.
Xavier: Cyclops!
Cyclops: A really big truck.
Xavier: CYCLOPS!

As long as you have FAM, and you have your account saved somewhere, nothing will be lost.
It won't be lost even if you don't have it, disabling the mod will not delete any of the ships.

Your characters are stored on the Server. Your ID is unique to your computer. Your ID does not change when you deactivate a mod, and your characters do not disappear either. Your ID is the same for every single server you play on.

Install FAM take a backup of your account and keep it safe. There are a lot of people who lose their accounts because of hard drive crashes and everything. Your characters are stored on the Server and your Account ID in the Registry of your computer.

Just do a second install of Freelancer, install Freeworlds to that clean install.

Oh, unless theyve changed theri rules Freeworlds is basicly a PvP server, its common for caps to camp a JH and gank traders the second they come out.

Just rename the Freelancer folder into Freelancer.discovery. Pop in the disk, install FL. Cut the disco mod out of FLMM mods directory, unzip freeworlds into it. Activate.

Done. Plus by renaming the folders you can switch between any mod you like.
