The Juggernaut is due to be changed in 4.86, the model is anyways.
Marvin's RP is one of my most passionate, and Im real logical (and sometimes creative, but it takes something big for it to come out). I cant think for the life of me how to RP a WHOLE ship model changing.
I feel like im obligated to. Its such a HUGE change. I mean, the current juggernaut is not bright so much, but its... lively. Its got the same texture color as the freeports. gray/white metallic "open doors" feel.
The new one, if you've seen it, is dark grey/black. Still has the biodomes, but has much more of the "Ship of defense" feel (which I love).
It isnt something that needs to be RP'd. You can RP it if you like, if you want, but most of the time when a ship model is updated just for aesthetic reasons, it's usually deemed as always having looked like that.
When the geb carrier was changed from the old model to the new one, the ship itself in-RP wasnt changing, it always looked like the new one as far as in-game characters were concerned.
or start "rebuilding" your own ship.
You can Rp the whole re-paint and re-build ceremony even garthering mats and keeping hte ship in hangars for weeks while transporting techs there. (commodities).
this or as the gents told ya: ignore the change and keep playin'.

There are some cases, however, where it does change in-RP as well - the Outcast Destroyer was the RM-1 in 4.84, and the RM-2 Storta in 4.85. The Corsair Gunship did the same.
My destroyer (no longer in-game), MNS-Phantasm, was explained as being an old RM-1 remodelled to roughly the same performance as the newer Storta, while keeping a few traits of the original RM-1 (such as the visible fighter bay, even if you didn't see it in-game anymore).
