Once fled they can be chased down and killed for being the yellow cur they are. Only if dead/docked with a base are they given the 10 minute leave system window. Until that time they may be forced to run for their lives all the way back to a base.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
You're engaged in combat with another player. (fighter vs fighter for simpleness sake, noone else involvved)
Said player jumps to anotehr system, you follow.
As that player has fled (IE: docked with a gate/hole) according to the rules, is that player allowed to attack you as you come thru, or do you have to be the one to continue the encounter ?
Don't forget that if you continue to chase them ... they can continue to defend themselves. So if they go from NY to Texas and you follow them and they turn to defend ... don't go crying re-engagement because the engagement is only over when you stop chasing them, they dock or get killed by you (or you by them).
If you jump thru right after them (IE: within 10 secs or therebouts, the usual delay for someone chasing) it's deffinitly chasing.
If you jump thru a minute or more later....... then in this hypothetichal situation they were purposly waiting to re-engage you.
Of course it also depends a lot on the PC involved, the faster the PC the faster you clear the jump sequence. Very useful for getting that extra 1-2k distance in cruise after a JH when running.
We aren't going to say "unless a minute has passed since they jumped" because it's a silly and unnecessary addendum that only the litigious man of straw would need to inform his game-playing.
Always looking for loopholes are we?:D
No really, the rules are getting more and more specific, confusing and people just look for way of overriding them.
