Quote:The IMG commissioned a new defensive branch to be created to counter a growing outcast threat. The main goals of this branch are to rid the Tau systems of Outcasts, BMM and anything from Bretonia or at least make the systems safe for the IMG miners
That would be the IMG|[D].
Then you're saying
Quote: I would also like to say that even tho people think that the Tau systems are over crowded i would like to point out that in real life when there is money to be made in an area the people flock to make as much as they can.
And now you're saying
Quote: and just because a lot of factions reside there doesn't mean there are a lot of players there, ive been playing for a month now and haven't seen as much activity there as in other parts of the galaxy.
EDIT:I've just checked in game with my CR, there's more than 10 people in the Tau 23 alone atm.
I don't think you're ready to have your own faction.
Aside from that, its just another PVP oriented faction, who wants to blow up Oc Destroyers.
I'd still be careful about what I list in the faction description if I were you. Technically, you shouldn't go about saying you've an alliance with Kusari if Kusari leaders don't want to have an alliance with you.
Also, Kusari would never grant anyone ownership over all of the Taus because they're aiming for them themselves.
When the Colonials were allied with Kusari, even then, despite them being a greater force than what the TDF would be, Kusari still wanted Tau 29 and Tau 31 for themselves.
So basically, don't say things are one way while they're another way in reality.
Also, think carefully about what you'll do as a faction other than fight Outcasts come 4.86, because they're basically the only enemy the IMG will probably have.
The IMG won't be Gallic allies, they'll just be in a state of forced neutrality because they can't afford to attack Gallia because it would mean their destruction.
Also, it would possibly be smart if you changed the wording up there a bit because it hints that you're working under the orders of the IMG who, in case you did not know, have been sacrificing a lot to ensure their neutrality to both Kusari and Bretonia. This kind of move by them to side with one House is rather peculiar given the previous established RP.
I mean, be my guest if you want to be some sort of breakaway from the IMG who separated because they didn't agree with the Guild diplomacy and politics, but don't claim that you're working for them and under them, because that'd get them into quite the pickle.
Note: You don't necessarily have to be discouraged by this. You just need to revise some things. Better now than when you'd one day want to become official because then all this would present a very big complication, and you won't be able to just up and change all your previous RP. Also, don't be discouraged by the "this is a PvP faction" comments if you truly don't intend it to be one.
Just weather the storm of bad initial opinion and make them change their minds by playing well.

I'll just re-iterate this though:
You cannot assume to be 'allied' to anyone.
What if they do not want you as an ally?
Also, the IMG have every right to simply say 'No' to this currently, as it seems the IMG created the TDF. If they want, they can shut it down too.
In any case, the alliance with Kusari would need to be a completely non-IMG thing and even then it would strain relations with Bretonia for the IMG.
Basically, the idea in it's current state won't work.
See the replies for ways to improve it, but don't ditch it.
I would suggest awaiting 4.86 release, and then re-evaluating this faction from scratch, you're unlikely to face the same circumstances you do now. By the sounds of it, you'll want to distance yourself from IMG, I don't totally discredit the faction idea, you could very well be the exterme IMG that desire GRN to deal with IMG's enemies, you can be a collaberator of sorts, which fits entirely with the storyline. But right now, not so much.
IMG is trying to be as friendly as possible to BAF, and CR pretty much gave up it's war with Bretonia (wasn't going that well, and they made enemies of KNF, I guess).
Technically, the CR is now aiming for the same thing IMG is aiming at, diplomatically speaking - separating themselves from the influences of both Bretonia and Kusari, so you could call them just wanting neutrality and being left alone.
The IMG is perhaps a bit closer to Bretonia, but not close nor desiring to be close since they have to balance between not making either House angry, so that's where I'll disagree with Markam, although from his side's point of view in-RP things are the way he said.
Markam, I also see what you did there with "not going well".:lol:But yeah.
P.S.
So if anyone's unclear on all this, the Colonials currently have a neutral (from their side, I don't know if any of the two Houses don't feel the same way) stance towards both Bretonia and Kusari.
Anyways, yet again, wait for 4.86, I suggest. Right now there's a lot of things that will change and, quite possibly, another very crucial thing might also change depending on what some talks that are currently afoot produce.

Thanks for the input guys, when the update comes out i will update areas that need to be updated and will change bits etc to make it fit in prefectly with the game
While i have no problem with you making a faction that's goal is to defend the IMG, I do have a problem with your stated goals. I wont say no yet, but that is what my first response may be.
We like bretonia, and have more bases in it's borders then any other house. we travel through their space, use their lanes, and buy supplies from them.
We will not piss them off under any circumstances.
period.
Kusari does nothing except buy silver ore, which we mine in the omegas. one of the least profitable things the IMG mines. We're decidedly neutral with both houses, but, if things came to a head, which they will be heading for in 4.86, we'd side with bretonia.
Also, I'd rather not see more IMG caps in 23, they got shot down too much as it is.
Act wisely.

I have a question. Considering the apparently active role you intend to take, I think it would be prudent for you to gather your player-base, and contact the leaders of the factions you intend to associate yourself with, before you actually start this faction. Also, your back-story features a lot of power-playing. It assumes roleplay that doesn't exist. For example, the concept of an IMG-based faction trying to conquer the Taus is inherently fallacious, since IMG is at its heart a commercial enterprise of free miners, NOT a sovereign nation. That's CR.
It also assumes that this organization is a long-standing one. If it had such a pivotal role, as your back-story seems to suggest, why hasn't anyone heard of it until now? What you ought to do is start off small. No battleships, MAYBE an Argus as a base of operations. Start a new diplomacy, and collaborate with the established factions to make a new one.
While I, personally, do not believe that another IMG based faction is necessary in the Taus, we'll see what happens. I wish you good luck, and the wisdom to avoid stupid actions.
