So theres been a bit of hostlity on the fourm lately and I thought for a diversion I would ask a question that I've had for a while, and felt a little stupid asking, so perfect opportunity:)

What's the deal with Juneu Shipyards in Alaska? Is it like the Hispanola? or will it be used in the next mod? I just dont understand why it's there.

Anyone?

EDIT : wow, what a cheezey way to get to defender piliot:(

I remember seeing the Juneau Shipyards when I played the entire standard SPC (Single Player Campaign) three times in 2004, but I can't remember if they were dockable. However, I believe that the Juneau Shipyards were dockable in Evolutions 2.28 and Evolutions 2.29: Nomad Revenge. I don't know why Juneau Shipyards aren't dockable in Discovery.

The Juneau shipyards are part of the vanilla storyline (where the evil Liberty navy is constructing Nomad ships IIRC) and is undockable. It is merely eye-candy. There are no plans to make it dockable in Discovery, although that could change if someone gave Igiss a good enough reason. I'm not sure how much effort would be required to make it a real base.

Lohingren: I started playing vanilla FL in early 2004 and vanilla MP shortly thereafter (probably Spring 2004). In late 2004, I became an SP on the Solaris server (vanilla at the time), which switched to Evolutions shortly thereafter, becoming Solaris Evolutions and eventually revived for a short while as Solaris Resurrection (Discovery 4.83). I also played on several other Evolutions servers, including the Armageddon Server.

Juan_Arquero has usually been my first character on a server since I first played MP back in 2004. On standard servers, Juan_Arquero usually flies a fighter, but sometimes flew a freighter on Evolutions servers and often flies a freighter, transport or capital ship on Discovery servers. My main trader character has been Juan_Williams since 2004. On Solaris Evolutions, I became leader of the TRD trader clan with my clan fighter character being [TRD]_Psycho and my clan trader character being [TRD]_Juan_Williams. Traficante_Pepe was my smuggler character on a few servers back then and even more now. My pirate character was Pirata_Pablo back then, but I use Juan_Gorrion now. There are a few other names that I use now and I still use the same name for my SP characters, but I won't reveal those names, since I want to keep some secrets, so other players won't always know who and/or where I am.

did you ever play on Nightmare Evolution?

if so we might have met in a past life heh

under the name of Dark_Dragoon or Raven

as for the effort on making it dockable i think its just switching around a couple of zero's and one's and making a interior but as you said theres really not much point in making it a dockable base other than to buy a nomad vessel maybe but blecht plenty of them to be bought on other bases so useless

Lohingren: Yes, I did have at least one character (probably including Juan_Arquero) on the Nightmare Evolution server, but I don't think I played there much. I don't remember Dark_Dragoon or Raven, so we probably never met.

Heh, actually it would be a more sensible location for them than zoner planets....

........As modest stillness and humility:........................................Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage!....

well i was admin on that server for about 6 months then my comp blew and that was when i had no income due to being in school so took me about 3 weeks to get it fixed and got kicked off the admin team being accused of lying pretty much. it was also the server that RoS was on after we moved from Jolt.co.uk and Alliance server which got shut down due to the server owner not being able to fund it any longer.
