[RoS] Faction Ban

To ensure freedom of speech and also not to make us look like we are an unorganised un-RP like faction I wish to leave you all with a copy of our official post giving our side of the story on our ''Clan Ban''

This is from my viewpoint stating just the facts (and hopefully not to many opinions)

OK, After posting and posting and pm'ing and pm'ing on the discovery forum in search of justice I have decided that I must go to bed and have some rest.

But firstly here are the facts leading to our faction being wrongly banned...

There was a few members online enjoying what was a quite exciting bit of action.

Theese members include: MYSELF / UK1 / CARBON / SILENT / KO KING

We got a report from an [AW] - that he was being attacked in Theta.

We responded by going to theta and giving chase to the one who had attacked our allies.

This chase led us to gamma from where we told the now grouped [AW] member that we was to head there. The member joined our party on the hunt for glory in gamma.

We got there to find not 2 many people online (maybe 4 at max) but nethertheless we attacked anyway. we say this as fair due to attacking players like Globalplayer-SVK in his Battleship and others in gunboats.

With [AW] there was a bounty hunter [DOOM] who after we had attacked gamma we proceded to chase out of the system.

No one at any point was re-engaged or destroyed more than once.

I proceeded to head back to alpha with our new member KO King. I was to get him started up and get him a fighter and then we was to rendevoux back at alpha to do some training (war games)

at somepoint during the first attack I had sent messages about the corsairs being unorganised in responce to there messages slurring outcasts, and reffered to the war as surely being won by outcast if the corsairs do not improve. (all in RP ofcourse)

A second attack was then led by -PM-Torchwood back into gamma to destroy a new force of corsairs.

I did not take much notice of this attack as I was busy traveling through newcastle and dublin to get our new starter sorted.

At somepoint I think some of our members ''maybe even including myself'' got a little excited and may have broadcast something that may have sounded out of RP.

Apparently it was something like ''Gamma is now ours''

This could have been meant in number of ways and I hold no member accountable for this comment.

No warnings were given to any of our players and we was all banned for what appeared to be no reason.

I have tried to make sence of this after many posts in the DGC Forum http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7610

I have come to a conclusion that this may be a harsh decision.

We must all ensure in future that we stick very strictly to RP rules above anything.

And we must also report anyone, via screenshot to the admin of the DGC Forum.

We must report them untill we get confirmation from the admin that the matter is being dealt with just as we have been dealt with.

That is the only way that this decision can be justified, and the only way it can be upheld and not overturned.

Important DGC Rules that are important for us as pirates to keep in mind (Quotes from the Official DGC RP Server Rules)

''All players of Discovery server are obliged to follow the Rules listed below. Not knowing the rules does not relieve from responsibility.''

''1.3 Administrators are obliged:

- To ensure work of Discovery Freelancer server;
- To be fair and treat all players equally, independent of their level and faction alignment;
- Not to mix server roleplaying with server administration in any way;
- Not to ignore any cases of server rules violation that are reported.''

''1.5 Possible sanctions are:

- Warning on forums and/or in-game;
- Removal of certain equipment from player ship;
- Removal of credits from character (% or fixed sum);
- Placing inside a prison system;
- Deleting character;
- Banning account on forums and/or in-game.''

''RP-related threats are allowed on the server.'' from section 3.2

''3.4 Out-of-character (OOC) chat should not be used for system chat. Using out-of character in roleplaying chat should be marked with "OOC".''

''4.3 Factions are free to restrict or not restrict access to their home systems and tax players who enter home system. Access to systems that surround home system must not be restricted unless there's a war with another faction.''

''7.1 PvP combat is allowed only on roleplay basis. The pilot who is attacking must scan for an ID prior to the attack. Relying on general reputation status (red/neutral/green) without scanning for the ID is not allowed.''

''7.10 Owners of Pirate IDs have a right to attack:

- Military/Police
- Bounty Hunters
- Trader ships that do not pay for passage
- Unfriendly pirates''

''7.13 Pirates and terrorists have a right to deal as much damage as they see fit before or after demanding money from a trader ship, but killing trader ship before demanding money is not allowed. Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner.''

Please note that there is no rule in here allowing for a whole faction to be banned without warning.

A copy of this port will be posted to an admin of the DGC forum and asked to be passed to all.

I also request that if this type of banning is to be put into place that it is atleast in the rules first so that players can have some sort of warning atleast.

Let this minor hiccup not deter us, but make us stronger and further enforce good RP on the DGC RP Server, As valued members I belive that this is a responsibility we must all undertake.

Ok pal, I intend to, Its just a shame about the responce times with this, The admin would rather sleep on it and leave 13 members unable to continue for up to 5 days.

This leaves me feeling very bad for all of our faction if I can not at least see the evidence that has convicted us to this.

I feel let down by the admin as this issue was raised hours ago, I have PM a number of admin and members.

Nice to know you care about us guys. We arent that important I guess.

Continuing with this after the sanction thread was locked is not going to help your case, as I explained in my
PM.
Have a bit of patience, it is 3am here, and believe or not admins ain't gods when it comes to sleep depravation
Call it a day please, it is a game, and I'm sure the decision was not taken lightly, or without evidence supplied.

Lol, Im not angry, not at all.

I understand that people have things to do. but I just feel plain ignored after the amount of posts and PM's.

I think pretty much all the admin have had a pm from me and I have not even had a reply to say they are dealing with it. or looking into it again.

How long does it take to compose a short pm that could reassure me?

surely not 5 hours.

I was promised a pm with the screenshot of the offence by another player.

Put your self in my shoes guys, 1 of your faction make a mistake and you all get banned. How do you feel?
