transmission to Freeport 11 to be distributed all around zoner installations:
"the civilian liner "silvermist" was forced to stop and taxed in omicron-theta today. the captain says he was asked by the corsairs Arthas and Cannibal to hand over 5.000.000 tax. now that amount is not only outragous, but also highly suspicious to see corsairs to linger at Corfu base, basicly in the path of docking and undocking and to threaten zoners in their very own space. is there a new attitude towards the zoners from the corsairs? or are those two just misguided individuals.
however - the liner silvermist was able to escape the disruptors and make it to cruise. the corsairs did not chase the liner - but the ship was damaged heavily. repair costs were well over 20.000 credits ( spent on Crete ).
the silvermist commented the incident as follows:" we hope that this was just an attempt by two misguided youngsters in gunboats. the truce between zoners and corsairs is too profitable to give it up. as of now, we advice to advance into theta with extreme caution or bring an escort."
A letter, in writing, is delivered to the silvermist.
The captain opens the letter, with no sender displayed on the archaic paper...
"I have heard about this incident, and I am not impressed with those two Arthas and Cannibal. I don't know who they are, or what they think they are doing trying to tax a zoner. Regardless, broadcast the evidence on the public channels that the initail report was broadcasted, and shame them. They should know better.
My sincerest apologies. They are in no way connected to the Brotherhood or the interests of the majority of the Corsair populace. We wish only to keep our neutrality with the Zoners, as it is very profitable for both sides.
Most of what you said is true. However you seemed to have missed a few details. You arrived at Corfu while a group of Corsairs were assembling to avenge an attack upon us by a group of Outcast. We had several non corsairs there as well who were willing to assist us.
Yes, we were blocking the base but not intentionally. We just happened to be in your way. Upon your arrival you teased us calling us a tea party and demanded we move out of your way in a very strong manner and this is what upset us. Yes we were wrong to decide to tax you for your perceived rudeness and yes we fired upon you and damaged your ship.
However, had we wished to destroy you we could have ( four GBs will kill a liner very fast had we intended your death) and the damage we inflicted was not severe. As you yourself said, it was 20,000 credits only.
At the time we didnt know what the damage cost was but within a few moments of the incident I did offer full reimbursement to your damaged ship and an explanation as to why the incident happened. It is certainly not my intent to sour relations with the Zoners and I was under the impression that the matter was settled there and then.
We are certainly not on a 'warpath' as you put it and we do regret this unhappy incident. It is sad that you would paint us as complete villians and further, that you feel you are completely blameless and wholefully a victim is very unfortunate and I stand ready to reimburse you for your cost and your troubles.
I assure you I am certainly no youngster and I do apologise again for any trauma and inconvenience this has caused you.
As a member of the AW, the faction which protects traders on the Omega 74 and Omicron Theta system, I would like to know the ID's of those who pirated on you.
We allow all non-hostile ship on our space, but we do not allow pirates to engage in acts of piracy there. Knowing their ID's, we would be able to drive them out next time they enter there.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
Unfortunately, this disease is starting to spread, the trader [ZR]-Rui, has suffered an attempted extortion by some reckless Corsairs their names Aesteroph and Aestraph.
No damage was done, but even after trying to explain (from the safe dock) the relations Corsairs/Zoners, the two (brothers according to them) still continued on the idea that a taxation should be applied.
I ask of the respected members of the Brotherhood and the other Elders to look into this situation, it looks bad on us and on you.
"as a zoner in zoner space i must feel afronted to see what you called a task force of 4 gunboats and one battlecruiser being IN THE WAY of the docking path for our ILS automatic docking system. the liner announced the battlecruiser to move away, but it did not, upon entering the docking phase, ramming became inevitable.
it is good to hear that the brotherhood takes a good distance to those individuals, cause they were apparently besieging zoner installations. i made my intentions and my ID clear, and the individuals knew perfectly well that they had no right to blockade corfu, which is a civilian yard, for whatever reason.
i had well over 2500 people on board, and the sight of a corsair army outside their place of destination was terrifying them. however, in the end no harm was done, at least no serious harm. the shipyard at crete fixed my ship, but customers are scared now on their way to corfu, and i will prolly do some runs of raw materials before i take passengers to corfu again.
as a word of caution, repuation is priceless in a world as fragile as ours. we zoners, at least my family at delta, its hard to spaek for all zoners or rather impossible, - trusts the corsairs. not only are they important tradepartners for me but also - and that is most important .. neighbours. i can t afford to have trouble with the corsairs, since the Yaren depot is only a few clicks away from freeport 11, which is my home.
as you might have seen, i would not initiate any military steps or even retrubution. violence is no way to go there. and while i myself cares more for delta and the zoners, i know for sure that the asgard warriors might not be that forgiving when they get to know of something like that first hand.
as for now, the case is settled to - i do hope - everyones utmost satisfaction. and i m looking foreward to more profitable times with the corsairs.
PS.: the zoners are not a military faction, so if you venture into zoner space, you must expect a rather colloquial tone in communication channels.
PpS.: when the gunboats shot at the liner, it was filled up to the top with weapons destined for crete. i would not have expected the elders to be pleased to hear that their own shipment of weapons was blown up by bretheren"
Perhaps our next Council of Zoners session should be held outside Corfu, so that the Council members can see evidence of this affrontery firsthand. If not only your vessel, but those of other Zoners, are being treated so cavalierly in Omicron Theta, it raises the question of what exactly the AW are doing about it.
Perhaps if they stayed a bit closer to their "ZoI" to protect traders, these incidents would not occur.
Please advise if the TAZ can be of any assistance in this matter.
Willow sighed, listening as the commerce types went at it with the Traitors.
"The Fantasia has always observed the Asgard Warrior's Demilitarized Zone in Theta excepting when fired upon, but believe me, if I see anybody trying to pirate in that neutral zone, including my own, I will order them to cease, and if they do not, beware Fantasia's fire, for it is not a merciful mistress you court...I invite all my comrades to do the same. Willow out."
Fool Corsairs. They were attacking their own bloody shipping...even bloody Juno Kietan...what an utter bunch of slackers. It looked like dropping their fleets was becoming an even smaller challenge...
For the love of Malta, pull it together...my officers are becoming complacent...

"i don t really expect them to gather forces of pirate traders at corfu again. anyway, we got the official appology, which is enough to settle the matter.
furthermore, i m not too familiar with theta, i have to admit. theta is as forein to me as many other sectors. i don t know about the political structure there nor about the forces and tensions. only thing i do know is - that there are much more tensions than in delta. that might be, cause we have a common foe in delta, - the nomads.
about the AW. theta is a big system and the AW can t guard it 24/7. just like delta, i can only watch over it for so long. a positive thing about the incident was, that after the distress call was done, help was coming from many corners, and the battleship captain vendyahen ( i m not good at names ) watched over the system untill the dust settled down.
holding the next countil at theta will be a good plan anyway, because i think it will be about the asgard warriors. so it makes no sense to discuss that matter in delta or - wherever you reside, mal, tau-37? i don t know.
freeport 9 and theta are important and the matter with the AW is important. about assistance, - only in a political way, because weaponfire should be the very last option ever.
the zoners and friends have made their point and i a m sure we ll soon have customers that wish to travel to corfu again."
