The Oyabun lit a cigar and slowly inhaled the smoke. He then looked at his watch and performed a quick high-pitched whistle. The Wakagashira opened the front-door and walked into the room.
"You summoned me, Father." Like many times before the Wakagashira signaled his utmost respect through the act of bowing.
[color=#999999]"Bring me the assassin by the name of Hayate, then you shall remove yourself from this room." The Oyabun swiftly replied, wasting no time.
"As you command, Father." The Wakagashira exited with a bow and ran off to fetch Hayate.
A few minutes later Hayate walked into the Oyabun's room.
The Oyabun observed Hayate's posture and scanned for any signs of weakness. He was satisfied with the result from his brief analysis and began speaking. "You might have guess why are you here."
Hayate bowed before speaking. "My most respected Father, I believe this is regarding the newest task that I have been so generously rewarded with."
"Hai. That is correct kobun." The Oyabun paused for a few seconds and continued.
"As you are well aware, any possible cargo that is retrieved from the Kishiro strikes are to be transported to Kamakura Base.
The problem lies however in that many of these items that are brought to us carries no significant value on the places where we sell them. You see we are forced to limit ourselves to only specific trading hubs in order to avoid being traced by the Kusari Police. Therefore the list of cargo that we can actually earn money on is also limited.
I have assembled a new team designed to specifically note down what type of cargo that brings greater profit from your raids. This smuggling list will show you exactly what cargo we are seeking, and only those Kishiro vessels that are found to be transporting these types of cargo is a target of interest. The list will progressively grow as time passes so make sure to check in with me on a weekly basis.
Now that you have been informed, I suggest you return to your work.
There is much to be done."
Hayate silently bowed and made his way towards the hangars.
Hayate woke up to the sound of footsteps growing louder and louder. Eventually the sound suddenly vanished. It was instead taken the form of hard bashing of his front-door. He feared he had somehow caused problems for the Oyabun and that the men who were outside his door had been sent to execute him or punish him severely.
He slowly opened the door and at the same time all his anxiety was lifted from his shoulders. A runner who had been sent to deliver a certain note had come late and was simply trying to make up for the time lost by acting a little hasty.
Hayate was an understandable person in most situations, quite an uncommon trait within the assassins division. But he hardly showed it to anyone. In fear of the Oyabun thinking it was a sign of weakness.
[color=#CCCCCC]"I sincerely apologize for being late, please do not punish me, Hayate-san." The runner could be no more than eighteen years old, definitely a rookie.
Hayate knew he should have performed a swift strike at him to induce pain but he simply couldn't commit himself to do such a thing to a family member.
Instead he simply grabbed the note and tried to look angry before he slammed the door in, in front of the young boy.
He slowly unfolded the small note and it read as follows:
Hayate nodded to himself and headed for the command deck of the Dragon's Tail.
The Administration was assembled and awaited the arrival of The Oyabun to take his seat amongst the Yakuza Council. As the family father proceeded to enter the room all five advisors bowed to express their sincerest respect.
Once he finally sat down he rested his elbows on the table while he looked across the room, observing the five men sitting around him.
[color=#999999]"Gentlemen. I have received reports of various miners using the Honshu jumpgate in the New Tokyo system to travel to New Berlin. Usually the cargo is niobium ore, and our scouts have also revealed that this particular cargo is sold at an enormous high price in the Rheinland market.
Unfortunately vessels that are marked with our transponders are not able to travel to such regions of Sirius due to the potential risk of damaging our public relations inside the complex politics of Kusari. Ironically enough, we have hired the same people who we in secrecy rob.
Yes, you are aware of which organization I'm talking about. Kishiro Technologies. We have managed to subtly approach two of their employees and through bribery and mild extortion they have agreed to ship stolen loot to New Berlin where they will in return keep twenty-percents of the profit. We were willing to be so generous in order to ensure that they wouldn't perform a traitorous move against the Yakuza.
If you would be so kind Kuroki, please turn on the main screen.
Here you can see two of our transports transferring the niobium ore so that the Kishiro vessel could act as the middle-man. Everything looks legitimate through the eyes of the Rheinland government and thus they lack any initiative to ever inform our own government. Making our shady deals slip under the radar.
Safe to say. The first three shipments being conducted have been successful to say the least. I wished to inform you as I also want you - the Administration to carefully monitor the progress of our ore efforts. Should this prove to in any way raise suspicion outside the Hogosha Kaigi which is attached to the leadership of the Black Dragon Society, I want to be informed immediately. And I mean right on the spot, heads will roll if there is any delay. With this mind, consider the significance of this newly discovered business that surely will prove to be lucrative as well."
