Jack Archer's ship is quite nice, but as mentionned, this texture looks like scrap metal... and Archangel, despite having a better texture (but the bronze like colour really has nothing to do on a rheinland ship...), the ship's general aspect looks too round compared to generally bulky-boxy rheinland original designs (except the "wheel-engine" as I call it).
Oh and I'm trying to understand how the hell to mod it, but I barely understands how milkshape works...
and some texture updates (I still dont get it exactly how to do a one picture material texture, this is kinda improvised again, but I cant really do much better, this is a two material render (comparatively to 12 material render on previous version)
(thats probably less or more the sight of the ship in-game...)
Ah and some minor modifications include a wider main wings, thiner cockpit.
This is my way of design. It is polarizing. Some people will love it, some will hate it.
Quote:Angel, no offense, but that ship doesn't look very Rheinland. Its the right skin, yeah, but Rheinland ships have always been sturdy and reliable over anything else. That looks... Fragile.
Look in the past: The Me 109, FW 189, FW 190, Ju 87, Fieseler "Storch".
They all looked fragile.
Look for today: O.K. The Tornado is looking sturdy, but the Eurofighter and the former Alphajet are looking more than just fragile.
Also in Freelancer. The only thing that makes them looking sturdy is this lorry like cockpit, which is giving me the feeling to drive these fighters, not flying them.
This is just to make things clear. Some people have an strange point of view about german design.
@ xing: You can send me the model and i will make it useable for Freelancer. Oh and my suggestion would be to scale it a bit up and asign it to the Red Hessians as their Gunboat. Therefore we can keep the visible cockpit.
