The lights strobed on and off, reds, blues, and various other colors.
The music was pounding loudly, and people littered the room as if it was the morning of a Christmas day sale. Bernard Levesque slowly made his way through the crowd, along with three other officers. He was starting to get a headache and well, this was just another damn job.
Internal Affairs was his line of work, a few weeks ago he caught a Maquis spy working an inside job on the Gallic Royal Police. Needless to say, that mans life was ended, and not with a terrorist attack. A faint smile appeared on his lips as he raised his right hand up to his ear piece. "Target sighted. One of our under covers is with him. Are you guys in position?"
"Oui, I'm in position by the nearest exit to the target."
"Monsieur Levesque, you already have me in your sights. I'm ready."
It was this small task force that kept the corruption to a minimal, the group that was hated by virtually every police agency, and this one got to carry out it's jobs anyway seen fit. Bernard Levesque task force once broke up a resistance meeting by going in guns blazing. Directuer Dupont wasn't exactly happy, but she didn't really mind it either.
He moved his coat slowly out of the way and reached for his side-arm, pulling it out slowly. He raised it up and started moving slowly forwards, the other officers did the same. The lights and music suddenly turned off, and people started to shuffle around in confusion. Then the lights turned on fully and someone shrieked.
"Bertin Collard! This is the Royal Police! You're under arrest. Get immediately on your hands and knees or I will drop you!"
Bernard Levesque shouted, moving in quicker now, keeping the pistol steady on the target who looked baffled. Another officer came up behind him and placed his own foot squarely in the mans back and shoved him down. "You're under arrest for killing an Officer of the Royal Police, and for being a Council sympathizer. Sadly, monsieur Collard, you do not have the damn right to anything!" Levesque said putting the pistol back in it's holster and pulling out his own hand-cuffs, kneeling down next to Bertin Collard and placing the cuffs on the mans wrists.
"Just another day on the job." Levesque smiled standing up and looking at his task force. He gave an approving nod as one of his members grabbed the man and pulled him to his feet. "Right, let's roll out and get back to the precinct."
