Though having been here for a moderate length of time and participated quite often in forum RP, there are still several glaring questions that some have asked and not truly been answered on. If these questions do not have answers, I believe major problems in RP may result and the individuals involved will need to work to a resolution.
1.What is the generally accepted conversion of in-game time to real time? I use the convention of "every new mod version=1 year passed" but I am unsure of what is generally accepted in RP.
2.Who are the current heads of state in the Houses? We know that Niklaus Rheinhardt has succeeded Kristina Pryde as Chancellor of Rheinland, and that Carina still maintains her position as Queen, but who is currently the Emperor of Kusari or the President of Liberty?
If any KNF people have assigned a name to the Emperor, I apologise for wasting your time. And I myself see a possible President in Sn!pers character, who is ranked as "Commander in Chief". However, I am not certain due to the regionalization of that rank during wartime and the possible analogies drawn between that and modern Sirius times. As such, Sn!pers character may only have complete authority over the LSF (however, this does beg the question of how the LSF has evolved from being lead by a Director to a Divisional CIC)
if each version should be a year passed, then the single player president has probably resigned allready. emperor and king/queen might remain though.
when its about a player election, - well, you can stage an election of all the liberty playerfactions around, SA and LSF, i guess - but i d rather like to see a "real" name as a president before a callsign.
"President Sn!per" just doesn t sound right cause its not a real name; you wouldn t want a "chancellor I_kick_your_butt", too, i guess. other than that - maybe coordinate it with an admin so it can be widely broadcasted. - but maybe there s allready someone in charge that i have missed.
I sorta like this idea. I get kind of tired of referring to the "President"as well the "President" in the Liberty Forces Message dump. I guess it would be interesting to try, but Phelps obviously can't be the President, hell he can't even be bothered with lacing his shoes. I'll talk to Evil Joker, Sn!per, and Christina and see if we can work anything out as we're the four heads of the SA/LSF.
1) There has been no set aside device to tell how fast time is passing in the Disco world. I'm not even sure how many versions there have been. Does 4.83 equate to 483 versions ergo 483 years? That doesn't sound right. Based on what I have read of the role play here I would say something less than 100 years have passed since the Nomad war. But someone else who has been here longer should answer that one.
2)Kusari has no real figure head character on the throne at the moment and its mostly my fault. I was planning to introduce one a couple of months ago but life got complicated for a bit, all my KNF chars got deleted and now our good friend Lotek is piecing the Lagoon back together by himself. I have no plans to rejoin them because I simply don't have the time, but that doesn't mean Lotek can't do it, or somebody could help him.
Bretonia is a monarchy, so Carina should be queen until she dies, but again, if 483 years have passed since the Nomad war, she would be an extraordinarily old woman to say the least (lots of pure Corsica Cardamine probably.) And the good people in the SF would have most of the responsibility of playing that role out, so talk to Firebird.
And someone in the SA just needs to step up and have elections every so often. Find all the people with legitimate characters of Liberty origin and have them vote on a president every so often. Candidates can even create characters to campaign...sounds like good role play fun.

Why cardamine? In RL, we are not so far away from artifical immortality/cyborgs/etc.; even if the researchers would get lazy, it would not need much more than 300 years (if they work enough however, I think it would even be possible to see the first artifical life extending possibilites already within my life)....and Freelancer plays A LOT later than 2007;). Even if we'd say research became slow when the war between Coalitian and Confederation (?) began and some of the research data got lost when humanity was fleeing from the nomads; Discovery FL is set long enough after the first sleeper ship reached the Sirius sector, so why should life extending be impossible in FL? It surely would be expensive, but a Queen should be able to afford that...

You're right, it doesn't have to be Cardamine. But I think its good plot writing to assign limitations to your story. Its best to try and write within the Freelancer universe as much as possible without adding too many new material/concepts. Some new ideas are great, but in small numbers to maximize their effect.
This is only my opinion though. You will find some very outlandish writing on these boards that sound very at home with the Star Trek technobable that many of us have adopted.
But this is besides the point. Whoever decides to play the Bretonian Monarch, or even the Kusari one, would be free to do some very weird stuff, including making a cyborg super human ruler who never dies.
In the new version (4.84), there is a 'history' commodity available that tells what important stuff happened when. That, plus the rumors will let you know what year that specific version is in. I believe its been 5-6-7 years since the nomad war at 800-801. So it should be 506-508
