The last model in your first post has some dodgy topology in the base. You have a bizilion sided n-gon on the top which needs to be fixed. You may as well fix the triangles on the side while your at it. They don't matter as much, but depending on where it is and what its doing, triangles can cause serious problems when animating and/or importing in to a game.
You might also consider connecting that strut to the base rather than just intersecting the mesh.

edit : they are just rough models, i was thinking of
redoing them before they could be imported ingame.
