Jean looked up at the newcomer, and gestured for him to sit down. "Oui, I am a soldier of Le Conseil. If you wish to know more about Gallia et Orkney, you have come to ze right place, monsieur. If you are a mercenary for hire, I can most definitely zink of someone who could use your... services." Jean took another sip of his beer.
[color=#FF9900]"Yeah, I thought it'd be the right place to start. So, which groups might be interested of my services? I've heard that some of them even work in Sirius."

"Oui, monsieur. Le Conseil is always looking for good pilots to help fight ze Royals, or even to simply ship supplies for us. Unione Corse may be interested in your services, though I cannot speak for zehm for sure. If you wish to make fast money, I would suggest becoming more familiar with ze Free Brigands of Gallia. Ze Maquis, as well, may always be looking for someone to ship supplies for them. Ah, tell me monsieur, is there a specific area of Gallia, or a faction, zat you would like to know more about?"
[color=#FF6600]"Well, I think I got the picture. Which of these groups can offer me contracts that don't involve sneaking into Gallia? I prefer to stay around explored space, and I doubt that some of those Gallic groups would tolerate my presence at their bases."

"Hmm... if you do not wish to enter Gallia, zehn perhaps selling supplies at Reunion and other Council bases would be a good job for you. We pay handsomely for ze right commodities, mon ami."
"Thanks for a piece of advice... Perhaps I'll stay around here for some time, maybe I'll even reconsider visiting Gallia. I think that's all I need to know for now."
After a break, Kyle returned to Orkney on his brand-new Virage. Docking port 2 at Reunion opened and the ship docked.
The Cantina remained the same. Of course, people there changed... But one man, the constant resident of the Cantina, was sitting in the corner. It was that man in the cloak. He was there to overhear random conversations, to watch over some people. And he remembered the mercenary who visited the cantina a while back.
-"Bonjour, monsieur," - the man started.
-[color=#FFFF00]"Are you talking to me?"
-"Oui. If I am correct, you are one of those Sirian freelancers. I remember your visit some time ago."
-"Yeah... And who are you?"
-"Let's sit down, shall we?" - the stranger invited Kyle to join him at his table - "A drink?"
-"No thanks. I'm more interested in the reason you wanted to talk to me"
-"You see, monsieur, I remember that you wanted a job around here. Are you still interested?"
-"Perhaps. What's the job?"
-"Well, it varies..."
-"Wait, first I must tell you that I am not a murderer"
-"We wouldn't ask you to kill someone. After all, the escape pods save people's lives anyway... most of the times. So, it's more like destroying some property. And, before you say anything else, most people we want to teach a lesson... Well, they're corrupted at least. Some of them are murderers or cold-blooded criminals. Some of them -might- be the mercenaries of the Royal Navy, but the Royalists are just the same murderers, only wearing uniforms. I know you entered Gallia and saw them yourself. They'd kill you or any other Sirian who dared to venture into Gallia. So, you have nothing to loose, but you can gain much."
-[color=#FFFF00]"It's still not an offer I'll accept on the spot..."
-"Of course, mon ami. Bien, if you seek for a job, keep the Legion des Damnes in mind, will you? We are expanding our cooperation with the mercenaries.
Satisfied with the results, the stranger left the Cantina. His talk couldn't be overheard and he spotted a potentially useful freelancer. Kyle remained at the table, reading the note at the PDA that the stranger left for him. It contained several links to the contracts offered by the Legion, and some encrypted files. Those were supposed to be unlocked after Kyle accepts the offer.
Kyle took the PDA and left the Cantina again. Who knows, he might return to Gallia for some contracts. But he could need some help, and he had to double-check the offer before accepting.
The stranger returned to the room shortly after Kyle left. "Seems like he'd be a good man for the job. We shall see" - he thought. After that he returned to his normal business, vanishing among the other shady persons of the Cantina.
Jasmine let out a small sigh, once again looking around the bar. There was very little to do here.
Usually she'd drink, but not now. She refused to take her mask off in the presence of another person.
Tapping on the table with a gloved hand, she observed the bar once more, unless she could find something to do she was going to leave.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
