An overdue to report was posted on [TAZ]Arashi (See 3rd from last paragraph, TAZ readable only). Doc Holliday asked all Zoners to be on the lookout for the missing ship and crew. Last reported position was in the Omicrons.
Vague Intermittent Life-Pod Beacon readings can be detected in the northern part of Omicron-Delta.
Ban'Thulu, while searching around to pass the time, picks it up for a moment, but loses it. The computer identifies the partial signal as Life-pods from a TAZ vessel.

*sound of a computer alarm. Howard starts, obviously having been lost in contemplation of infinity*
"Hmmm, what's this? Some sort of distress beacon... Let's see who it is."
*runs an analysis on the computer*
"Too faint to get details. At least the header tag is intact enough to identify, with a 92% probability. Seems to be from a [TAZ] vessel. Can't tell which one, though."
*thinks to self for a moment*
"Wait, wasn't there a report about a missing ship? Let me check my comm logs."
*scans back through logs*
"Ah, the [TAZ]Arashi was reported missing somewhere in this area of Sirius. Wonder if they could be from that ship? I'd better send out a call, my sensors aren't enough to trace the source."
*activates comm systems, sending out a general message to any Zoner vessels in Omicron Delta*
Attention, any and all Zoner vessels in the vicinity of Omicron Delta. I have picked up a distress beacon, possibly a lifepod from the [TAZ]Arashi. My sensors are not powerful enough to trace the source of the signal, so I am requesting assistance.

Sitting at the Freeport 11 bar, Commander Jim Tucker was heard the call for help come over his com.
"One of my own," he said aloud to himself, "I better get on it." He had heard of a missing TAZ ship so he thought this may be it.
"Bartender, can you add this to my tab?" he asked, "I have to run."
"Of course, Sir," replied the bartender.
With that, he boarded his Hathor gunship that he was placed in command of by TAZ, [TAZ]Templar.Gimmel. He got about 10k off the base and began calling out.
"To unidentified ship, this is Commander Jim Tucker of the TAZ ship Templar.Gimmel, please respond."
He made several attempts and waited for a response.
The night had been peaceful. More peaceful than most of the past week had to offer. Constant explorations missions had always teased his mind with curiosity and intrigue. They teased his mind, yes, but his body was flirted by none other than wear and tear coupled with their elder brother, fatigue. The sleep in only which the night allowed, or at least what his ship's computers called night, was welcomed with sore eyes and weary hands. The feathered pillow which caressed his head did nothing but allow for the troubles of the Sector to be lost in its generous comfort. No dreams to bother him, just the way he liked it. He had actually found what could be defined as peace.
All good things must come to an end, as much as Kael wished it not to. He wanted naught but the peacefulness of sleep to stay, but fate did not allow that hedonistic relationship to last. His personal comm, which laid rest in his headboard was buzzing incessantly as the alarm he had set was now attempt to pull him out of his deep slumber. His senses did not come to him swiftly nor unadulterated, mainly because he wished it not to happen. His mind was wanting only more sleep, and peace. Kael flirted with the idea of commanding the computer to shut that blasted noise off and sleep further, but the duty, in which his father had taught him, was beckoning.
No, it was not some great secret that he was the son of the famed Admiral Ravenor of the Zoner Defense Forces. Or, if you were a former soldier of the Nomad Wars, the infamous Commander Ravenor of the Libertonian Navy. Great annoyances to Kael was all that fame was. He managed to get up out of the bed and made his way to his dresser. Shuffling in a daze of unwanted awareness, the lighting of his quarters, even with how dim they were, offered not assistance in his migraine. Making his way to the shower, he flicked the nob and the liquid began to pour over his half-awaken corpse. Rejuvenating him as always, he stepped out and dried himself off.
Once again stepping into the main area of his quarters, his quarterly was there waiting to assist him in putting on his uniform. This masterfully orchestrated ballet of adjutant and officer was one that had been mastered after many weeks of practice. The Adjutant, young Andrew Jabez, barely old enough to be in the ZDF himself, was only appointed to him because of his relationship to his father. Don't get him wrong, he loved his dad, but loathed the bloody silver plate treatment he always received because of the numerous exploits of his patriarch. As the ballet continued, Kael went through the almost identical thoughts he had every morning. Those same thoughts that fueled him to take the jobs that no one else would, to do the menial tasks, those that would allow him to gain his own name, his own glory. He only did these tasks in the hope that something would come about that would life him to a pedestal of his own, to a place of honor in which he earned. He yearned for this opportunity to come around, and maybe, just maybe, fate would allow this day to bear forth the fruit of his labors.
Holstering his pistol and fitting his cap, he nodded to his adjutant as the door to the bulkhead opened. Kael made his way down the halls, nodding to his subordinates as they passed by him, on his trek to the bridge. Along the way, he keyed his data-slate and looked over the reports and the diagnostics of the day. Just as normal, his ship was running in excellences. Kael accepted no less, he allowed no less. Especially for a ship with the mission it had.
The 'Canaria's Curiosity', a Corvo Class Exploration Cruiser, a ship he had been most proud of acquiring. It wasn't one of the prime ships of the ZDF. It was a shining example of Zoner technology, at least not when it was first found. Kael had saved the ship from the junkyards of the Junkers, and managed to gain the resources and funding to restore this vessel to working order. It was the pride and joy of Kael Ravenor, and was to be his white horse to carry him to his own fame.
Still thumbing through the reports and messages of the day, an interesting notice came up on his data slate. It was a video link with the comm ID of his first officer, Lieutenant Price. He pushed the button the allow the link to come through. His Lieutenant, a man no younger the a few years under Kael looked back at him with a sense of poise and professionalism.
'Sleep well Captain?' asked Price as he looked into the console towards his Captain. It was a futile question as Price knew of the state in which his Captain had been in over the past month. Nevertheless, despite the protests of Kael, Price still believed that his ability to be cordial and polite was sufficient in maintaining his dear Captain's sanity.
'You know full well Price that I don't. I've also told you many times to stop this BS,' Kael struck back with sarcasm and a smile. It was nothing short of a bromance between the two. Kael and Price had been through thick and thin, great and small. Kael had personally picked Price to be his XO as soon as he had been given command of his ship. They both owed each other their lives, many times over, so many each of them stopped counting.
'Yes, I know sir. Anyways, we seem to have a bit of a situation. A Zoner vessel has reported that the TAZ vessel Arashi might be in some trouble. It may have picked up a lifepod on its sensors, but the Consortium vessel is lacking the hardware to track it.'
'The Arashi, that's that Alexandria lady that my father was talking about. Hmm, set a course for the Zoner vessel and send a message out immediately to it that we are en route.'
'Aye Aye sir!' said back to Kael as he cut the comms. Price turned to the helmsman. 'Helmsman, set a course for the Zoner vessel. Comms, open a link to that vessel.
'Aye, Aye, sir!' both officers said in unison.
This is Lieutenant Price, on behalf of Captain Ravenor, of the Corvo Research Vessel Canaria's Curiosity. We are en route to your location. ETA 10 minutes.
Price out!

I am [The_Angels]Mortis. If you need help regarding the rules, the game, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me on skype or PM me.
Greetings, Commander Tucker and Lieutenant Price. My name is Howard, pilot of the Virage Ban'Thulhu. I am currently approximately 30k from the Omicron Iota jumphole, above the system plane, and have picked up a transmission from a lifepod. I recently passed by that jumphole, and am fairly certain that it is not located near that. Unfortunately, the signal is too faint for my sensors to lock on, and I am hoping that one of both of you will be able to help locate it.
Corvo, if in range: Would detect that the signal strength of the beacons started relatively strong, then got weaker until the signla dropped.. then would start strong and get weak again. Like a failing power system.
Without the Corvo present, more ships, or another ship with powerful sensors, you will be unable to triangulate a position, but can narrow down a rough direction from Ban'Thulu.

Edited from the Raw logs **if you see a problem with one of your parts @ tell me so I can fix it**.]Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Attention, any Zoner pilots in Omicron Delta. I have picked up a life pod distress beacon, but am unable to lock in the location. Any help that could be given would be greatly appreciated. My current location is 30k from the Omicron Iota jump hole, slightly above the system plane.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'This is the ZDF-Canaria's Curiosity, we hear your call and are en route to your location.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: 'This is Richard Maack, Exploration Wing. I got long range scanners onboard and will try to pick up any signal. Taking course to your location.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'My computer has partly decoded the signal, it is from a [TAZ] ship, possibly the [TAZ]Arashi.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'This is Captain Ravenor Kael, with whom am I speaking to?'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'This is Howard, captain of the Virage; Ban'Thulhu. I was exploring in the general area of the Iota hole, and received the signal.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Understood Captain, we are En route now.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'It keeps fading in and out, as though the system power is almost out, so I hope that we can find them soon. I can see your engine trails, I am still above you.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Captain, we have you on scanners, heading to your location.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: 'Maack: We got a visual of you.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Greetings. Glad to see you.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Especially you, Captain Kael. With the sensors on that thing, we can hopefully find them.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'I intend to do just as such. What are the coordinates in which the signal originated?'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'I'm not certain, I stopped my engines as soon as I picked up the signal, but I can't locate the source. So it's somewhere fairly close to here.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity:
Kael: 'Understood.' *Voice turns to the crew* 'Ensign, engage short and long range scanners, divert all aux power to the arrays. Begin sweeps.'
Ensign: 'Aye, Aye, sir!'
Kael: 'Scanners are running at maximum, we are searching for a trace of the signal. Any idea what band it was on?'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'I'll send that information across from my computers.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Understood, Computers set to receive, ready for transfer.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Captain, we can set up search pattern of the area. Three ships can cover nearby area in a hour or so.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: *engages comm. systems, sends all logs of the signal to ZDF-Canaria's.Curosity and ZDFS-Samothraki*
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Computers are downloading, analyzing... Maack, that is a very good idea but let's not waste precious fuel. Let's allow the scanners to do their work to narrow down our search. The band seems to be a Tachyon based signal...'
ZDFS-Samothraki: 'Sam: Activating long range scanners; search: 144.424.242.13; mask: zoner; completing search.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity:
'Ensign, narrow parameters to residual Tachyon patterns. All frequencies.'
Ensign: 'Tachyon scans, all frequencies! Aye Aye, sir!' *A few moments later* Sir, seems like we got something!'
Kael: 'Good, where is it?'
Ensign: 'Well, it seems we got more than just one. Multiple signals. Multiple traces, sensors can't narrow it down any
further.'
Kael: 'Well, Howard and Maack, I think we got something here, but we may need to split up.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Tell me where to go. I'd hate to leave someone floating in space if we can save them.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Nobody will float in space, if we can find them. I can hardly analyze all the system, but can make fast scans of a rather small area.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'That is much understood. I am transmitting the coordinates to both your ships, seems we have 3 separate traces.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Mine's near the center of B1, correct?'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Cpt. Howard I have a trace originating from sector B1, if you could head there, yes.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Then I shall go there with all speed.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Maack, I got another coming from F1, about 20k Below the plane.
Kael: And then a third from E3, I will search there.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Got it. Course to location set. I'm moving out now.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Good luck to us all...'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Roger, may Eris Protect. This is hostile space, so everyone make sure you keep your comms open and make regular comm-checks.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Roger that.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'E1 entered. Still no contacts. Scanners are clear.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'In sector B1, roughly 24k above the plane, headed straight down to check. I will go as far as 25k below the plane.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Entering E3, scanner arrays at maximum, detecting no life signs.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'I reached the destination. Scanners are clear. No contact here. Setting long range scan.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Scanners working at their best, almost level with the plane, nothing detected so far.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'We got nothing here... Red Alert! Nomad ships on scans! Shields to full! Weapons online!'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Need help, Curiosity? I have a stronger signal, reading no life signs from the pod. Tracking it down now.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Mayday! Mayday! This is ZDF Research vessel Canaria's Curiosirty under attack! Mayday!'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Great to hear it... Oh, gosh. ZDFS-Samothraki, setting course to your location.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Headed to your location, the pod I tracked was empty. Repeat, empty. I picked it up for repair and reuse.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Got something on scanner... Thirteen, now twelve klicks from me. Alert. Cruise disrupted!'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Attention all ships, Corvo ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity is under attack, location E3 on your system map. Please assist.'
Aron: Adam: 'This is Captain Adam moving to assist.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'This is ZDFS-Samothraki, I'm under heavy fire at E2! Damm...'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'This is Kael, we got hit by a Nomad patrol, we found a string of life pods, Nothing in them. The damned nomads set a trap!'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Kael, is your ship still under attack? I am moving to assist, but am still 40k from your location.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Cruise engines at full, get us out of here!' *A few moments of silence* We are clear of the ambush, move to assist the Samothraki.'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Changing course.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'I had something on scanners when the nomad patrol attacked us.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Nomads attacked you too?! What the hell is going on?!'
Ban'Thulhu: Howard: 'Could the Nomads be attempting to lure us into traps?'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Oh, my, a gunship!'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Logic would suggest as much... but they aren't capable of such... cunning. At least not according to previous reports.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'I don't understand what is going on. I was ambushed by a gunship and several small ships the second after It was taken in.. By multiple Order fighters...'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'You will pay for this injustice you bloody bastards!'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'We're sitting ducks here! More nomads on radar, scanners show that the life pods aren't around anymore, it's a bloody turkey shoot! All vessel, break immediately for Freeport 11. Let's get outta here!'
'Nomad gunboat patrol dead ahead! Punch through them! All aux power to forward shields!'
'What the hell is going on?! When did the Nomads get smart enough to lay traps?!'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'I won't be surprised if we were the ones who taught them. So... What's the results?'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Damn'¦ Well, it seems although all the pods were empty, they still originated from the same ship, just towed by the nomads to where they were. If I can lock on their signal and amplify it through the Satellite nearby, I should be able to locate any other pods.' *minutes later* 'I've locked onto the signal... now amplifying it...' *silence* 'I got it! It's roughly between the Iota and Minor jump holes... adrift. Wait... that's right in the thick of Nomad territory, it could be another trap!'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Concentrate on search, me and Dirvish will do our best to take care of hostiles. We have no other way, we had to find the pods and make sure that they are empty or not. '
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'Damn.. I wish I could, but we suffered too much punishment during the initial ambush. Our engines can't sustain that trip. We have to dock for repairs and continue on tomorrow.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'Do you think the people in the pods have that time?'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'I do not know... but I cannot risk this ship to go into yet another ambush, even with your support we may not make it.'
Dirvish: According to the file, Captain Alexandria made sure her ship had top line equipment. The pods are armored, and have cryogenic life-support systems too. As long as they didn't take too much damage they have months of support.'[/color Wrote:ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity:
[color=#FFCC33]Kael: 'Well if there are actually people there, and IF they are still alive, they have to hold on till the morning.'
'This is the Canaria's Curiosity to the survivors of the Arashi, you are not forgotten. Hold on, we will find you!'
'This is the Canaria's Curiosity to the survivors of the Arashi, hold on for one more day! We will find you!'
'Damn... I hate leaving fellow Zoners out on a limb... This is the ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity commencing docking sequence. All vessels stand clear!'
Dirvish: I've delivered pilot of the Ban'Thulu to FP 11. The life pod was seriously damaged. I just heard back. He didn't make it.'
ZDFS-Samothraki: Maack: 'We hardly have another way.'
ZDF-Canaria's.Curiosity: Kael: 'I know Maack.... I know...'

With his small crew in the Gimmel, Tucker could only hope. He arrived to the location of where the reports were coming from. Not wanting to find Nomads near the Iota jumphole, the ship moved off, continuing it's scan.
"Helmsman," began tucker, leaning over the chair of his helmsman, "activate the TAZ secure homing beam on another channel. It may isolate other frequencies."
"Sir, it is a bit shorter in range," reminded the Helmsman.
"I am aware of that. Just do it," he ordered.
The homing beam was then activated, scanning for a TAZ beacon on an escape pod.
They crew scanned for minutes which seemed like hours. Tucker was nervous and his crew could tell although they attended to duty. Faith had been placed in him to command the Gimmel and he didn't want to disappoint. In his mind, the only success would be for his own ship to find those who survived.
He then called into sickbay, "Carter, you be ready for them when they do arrive."
"I will, Sir," was the reply.
Tucker began to pace and he could no longer control his nerves. He so wanted a cigarette but there were none on board. Out of frustration, he bellowed out loud to himself, "Why did I pick now to quit!"
His crew said nothing.
"Sir, I think I found something," stated the helmsman, "it's very faint but it's readable."
"This may be our chance," Tucker sighed, ''take us in that direction."
With that, orders were followed.
