Hangar Bay Omega, Atka Research Station, Sigma 17, Border Worlds

"Alright. Listen up, you motivationally challenged dimwits! I want this conversion done when I come back from my break in two hours!" Felix bellowed through the PA at the lower level workers who tried their best to carry out his orders as quick as possible.

The hangar bay was bustling with activity. Scientists, supervisors, inspectors and workers populated almost every square metre of the large bay fit for unloading at least two advanced trains. The conversion of the hangar bay into a makeshift laboratory was no simple task. Expensive equipment and apparatus had to be moved from the main experimental sections and recalibrated, power had to be rerouted and supplies had to be displaced to make space for the influx of claustrophobic researchers.

Since the Bounty Hunters battleship has arrived, Felix had been coordinating the whole conversion process non-stop. The process had not been smooth as the employees were never trained and examined in such massive projects. Felix found himself tired, frustrated and even more irritable than he usually is. He slouched into his chair on the balcony of the mobile command centre that hovered over the bay. Beside him stood a tall woman who held a pad and an even taller man; the women was young and had a pony tail, while the man was well built with a suit that is obviously a size too small for him and face that lacked any kind of emotion.

"Ashley," Felix gestured at the woman, "note - lab assistant Perkins has a big arse."

"What?!" Ashley stopped writing into her pad and glared back.

"I mean, Perkins has a big canister of acetic acid. You might wanna help her with that." Felix realised that, in his exhausted state, he has spoken without thinking and quickly corrected himself. He then forced a weak smile on his stress worn face.

"Yes coordinator." Ashley rolled her eyes and lowered the hovering platform.

"Oh, and Ashley," Felix added quickly, "bring back a bottle of those, what do they call it, Composition 314 or something from the boys at chems. Just ask for power juice. Coffee no longer keeps me awake and I'm starting to have a headache."

Ashley nodded slightly, then stepped out and disappeared in the crowd.

"I think it's the noise these intellectually impaired people are making. You, activate the force fields on this platform and set the frequencies to match natural human harmonics." Felix gave an order to the man who remained.

A low grunt and following beeps from a console were heard.

"Warning, anti-gravity stabilisers disabled, magnetic lift drive failed. Cause: user deactivation."

"What the'¦" Felix turned back.

All the lights in the platform suddenly seized and the faint whirring of the generator which kept it afloat disappeared. The platform and its occupants were sent into the floor of the hangar bay by the overtaking artificial gravity.

The ear-shattering sound of a crash resonated around the hangar. Everyone stopped working and looked in the direction from which it came. They were astonished to find their superior coming out of the wrecked command centre which was looming over their heads a minute ago.

"Ack," Felix recoiled his hand from his leg which obviously had been bruised and yelled, "what are you looking at you lazy morons? Get back to work or I'll have you all fired!"

"And you," He said to the same man who crashed him, at a more controlled tone, "I ought to fire you and have you in court if you weren't so valuable to this operation. I don't want you anywhere near me from now on; I'll find a more suitable replacement. Now bugger off!"

The large figure let out a small whimper and turned to join one of the many security elements posted around the hangar bay.

The emergency response crew arrived promptly and began to sweep away the broken components of the command centre. Felix cleared his suit of dust, straightened his tie and sat back down on his previously floating throne. He desperately needs some rest and stress relief which he simply can not afford at this time.

By the time the remains of the hover deck had been cleared away, the conversion was reaching its final stages, the most crucial and dangerous stages. This part involves the transportation of the few living alien specimens from the deepest reaches of the cryo lab into the new temporary laboratory. As a member of the executive team, Felix felt that it was his duty to protect the most precious company assets, in the interest of that extra share from annual earnings.

Ashley finally pushed her way through the dense crowd of people from the other end of the hangar back to Felix, her face is now red and she was panting from the run she made ever since Felix's hover deck crashed. She was in her loose hazmat suit which was designed for men and was holding a bottle of red glowing liquid.

While trying to catch her breath, Ashley said, "Are you alright, Felix? I came as soon as I heard the crash."

"I'm okay, Ashley," Felix replied, he was annoyed by the fact that she wasn't there when he got back on his feet, "took you long enough."

"I'm sorry, sir, there were too many'¦" Ashley explained before she was interrupted by a violent slap, which made her drop the bottle. The bottle hit the ground and smashed, spilling the luminescent substance on the floor.

"Give me your hazmat suit; I'm going with the xenologists to bring the aliens here." Felix demanded, oblivious to the now sobbing secretary.

Ashley was now in tears; she slowly removed her suit and ran for the inner offices as soon as she handed the helmet to Felix. With a brief sigh, Felix got into the suit and joined the small group headed for the cryo lab.

Of course, a man with a status like Felix's would never do the menial work of the lower order. When they got to the cryo lab, he simply barked out orders to keep the scientists on their toes. Surprisingly, he thought, the retrieval was done without a hitch.

Back at the hangar bay, where everything was almost ready and all the specimens were almost placed in their respective positions, Felix planned how to spend those extra few hundred millions of credits which were destined to be his. As he paced near the spill which Ashley made earlier, a junior xenologist walked past, holding a small tank which contained a living alien parasite.

Just as Felix thought about what colour his new extension for the apartment was going to be, a smash followed by a sharp scream was heard. He looked downwards and immediately jumped back, eyes widened.

The xenologist was twitching madly on the ground, with the alien covering his head, beside his body was the smashed tank and a small pool of shiny red liquid.

Felix ripped out his communicator and cried out, "Class S emergency in progress! I repeat, we have a Class S emergency here near the main facility entrance! All security elements and outbreak response teams get your arses over here NOW!"

Felix was stunned. He watched in horror as the parasite attached itself to the victim's face, released thick serum which paralysed the man and begun the initial processes of alien infestation. The man, if you can still call it one, stopped moving a moment later and remained on the ground. Three security guards arrived, with their plasma shotguns drawn and trained on the now motionless body. Half a minute passed by as the men looked at each other and tried to figure out what to do.

With an unearthly shriek, the body suddenly came to life and got back to its feet.

Terrified, Felix and the guards drew back so fast that they nearly stumbled backwards. The men immediately took aim and fired flesh ripping, super heated gas buck shots at the infested man. Gaping holes were made in the alien thing's torso which almost instantly regenerated into matter less recognisable as human flesh. As the alien got closer and closer, Felix closed his eyes and made a wish for a painless death. This is when he heard the sound of a burst from an incinerator, followed by a sharp screech of pain from the alien. He opened his eyes again, to see a group of power armoured, incinerator armed men approaching from the main office entrance.

The alien was enraged. It turned and leapt onto one of the armoured men at lightning fast speed. Luckily, the battle seasoned man reacted by catching it with clutch to its throat and slammed it hard back onto the ground.

"Ash it!" The lead figure shouted with hatred.

The attack was met by retaliation. Three crossing lines of flames enveloped the creature instantly. The screams of the alien were drowned out by the white hot fire and filled the originally dry atmosphere with strong smells of burning meat.

When Felix readjusted his eyes from the intense light, all that is left of the creature was a steaming pile of organic matter which still sizzled.

"Good job," Felix whispered to the armoured unit leader, he could barely reach the man's shoulder to give him a pat, "I'll see to your reward personally soon. I need a break'¦"

He threw his helmet to the ground then proceeded towards the executives' quarters.

Betchell had been stationed uncomfortably in the bar for 4 hours now, interviewing any of the Imitators visiting crew that happened to wander in; beginning informally and just about managing to obfuscate his purpose here.
Until the 8th subject realised their circumstances, he had been doing quite well: now he would have to deal with potential deception on the part of the subject, which meant measuring heart rate, vasodilation, pulse, pheromone production, involuntary iris-dilation/contraction, as well as a host of physical movements and ticks; in order to preserve accurate results. He adapted posture to suit the subject's new-found defensiveness, cycling the optics visible spectrum; paying close attention to its internal readings, he resumed the interview: 'They're just questions Leon'¦they're designed to provoke an emotional response. Shall we continue?'
A data feed alert pushed its way into his field of vision, its insistent pulsing a minor distraction in a bedlam of read-outs. He wrapped things up and after debriefing the subject, turned his attention to the alert:
'Containment Cell Ψbi4 Access granted. Alien Subject Φ6; procedural transportation underway. Energy emissions within standard limits. Subject Φ6 emission flux. Hangar Bay One: Access granted - Subject Φ6 transported; clearance assigned. Subject Φ6 readings approaching threshold'¦.exceeded. Subject Φ6 restriction module breached. Type 'S' emergency in progress: lockdown & containment procedures initiated: security team engaging; Fire team 1 responding. Infection determined: Φ6 has infested xenologist: Dr. Kane. Fire team 1 engaging; Stand-down type 'S' emergency: cleanup & containment procedures initiated. Subject Φ6 Destroyed. Dr. Kane's file amended; deceased, death by misadventure. Severance package paid, family notified: 'It grieves us deeply that our treasured colleague; your much loved husband Dr Kane; lost his life in a tragic accident'¦' Betchell pushed the rest of the feed aside, cursing as he marched from the bar to a secure terminal:
'Bloody deficient fecking xenologists! And their stupid, useless hands! Gah! I'll bet it didn't even occur to him how many hours and lives went into the acquisition of Φ6! Christ! I haven't even the word! Gods!' his tirade reached it's crescendo as he physically shoved the technician out of the way, and opened a line to his assistant:
'Joan! Get me a secure line to the board, and send a broad-wave to security to redouble their efforts for materials acquisition.'
She nodded as her hands quickly flicked across the console 'Done doctor. I took the liberty of re-scheduling your next 8 hours. You sounded vexed; So I'm having them prepare an infusion bath for you.'
He sighed in relief as he pressed his fingers to his brow 'sounds heavenly Joan, what would I do without you?'
'Explode'¦or find a cheaper replacement' she quipped. He smirked to himself as the call ended, and began whistling as he waltzed to check in on the scanning equipment crew before taking his ease.

Mimic pushed open the landing bay doors,
and exited into Atka's holding area.

As usual he was singing his favorite tune.

He had 100 men ,
He flew them up to visit Mimic
and he went back home with 10

hahaha Ohh that tune i never get tired of it, now where
is Tyrant hes been missing for 2 days, this place is a frakin madhouse.

Mimic headed to towards the Bar and spotted an official
looking Guy in a white coat.

Listen up fool.....

This ends here. Im not wild , im not staying here in this
Dump you call a Medical Center, i have gathered most of my crew
and we are in the process of activating Undocking Procedures.
You have probed me long enough with that damm

Now i have accounted for all my men except 1.
I assume he is being "probed" you have 1 hour to return him,
or dispose of him, what ever suits you, but i am out of here.

All but one of the crew had been verified and accounted for by their commanding officer; who had been the last in line to register as human:

The last of the Imitator's crew sat cuffed in a room with a false mirror. The subject had been isolated discreetly as messages had been passed amongst the staff to clear the area. The subject had been relocated under the ruse of an interview; and was being questioned needlessly by an expendable psychologist.
'What do you think it's like: to 'be' an alien?'
Subject: ''¦scary. To be out alone; amongst the enemy, always under the threat of torture: seeing what they've done to your home, I guess I'd be angry as well.'
'Yeah; I guess I would be too.'
The subject writhed distractedly against his restraint harness.
Subject: 'So, is that the end of the test? How did I do?'
'I think you know how you did Leon. You've been pretending for a long time haven't you? Tell me, what number 'host' is this your wearing'¦Five, maybe your sixth?'
Subject: 'Am I supposed to be impressed at your insane logic-play short-life? You are a tiny man; your mind so brimming with self congratulation: you sicken us. These restraints are too tight'. The subject struggled for the lone glass of water atop the grey table.
A man in glasses stood behind the mirrored wall observing. As the psychologist rose and bent toward the subject's shackles, the glassed man gave a curt nod to the armoured man to his right, as he raised a comm to his mouth: 'engage'. In a matter of heartbeats the room beyond was filled with a wall of black armoured guards, but it was too late: the subject rose as the first entered the room, shrugging off the harness, he reached the doctor and swiftly scooped him up as if he were no more than an infant. 'He Dies!'
Doctor: *strangled* 'don't you mean: Move AND he dies!'
'Short life..'
The air erupted with fire, rounds cutting red chucks of flesh from both the subject and the doctor, his face wrought with dismay as it was sheered away along with the rest of his body; revealing exposed gore and shards of protruding bone. A guard's scream pierced the riotous gunfire as the subject tore away an arm. Flinging the appendage into the guards, the hand still gripping the trigger, the creature launched itself into the confusion. A few more heartbeats passed as the glassed man watched three more guards lose limbs and life, and finally the tortured form of the subject twitched one last time before its remains fell still.
'Inform the board and the Imitator's captain; subject has been discovered and threat neutralised. Send Dr. Holden's family an 'associate' grade condolence package. Put me through to Hangar 18'¦'

It was now the next day morning, 12 hours since the hangar bay accident. After a good night's sleep, Felix has finally regained fragments of his sanity and tolerance enough to represent the Health & Safety department at the send off.

"Cappuccino, iced," Felix ordered his favourite drink at his personal food replicator, one of the latest technological marvels he happens to possess before most people in the sector as a privileged member of the executives team.

With a brief flash and buzz, a glass of his order materialised on the receiving pad. He picked it up and took a sip, then returned to the bathroom to do a final check on his appearance.

"Damn right you're irresistible, Felix," he said to his reflection in the mirror, a smirk appeared on his face.

He walked out of his office, allowing time for the door to close and lock, and proceeded towards the lower levels. He passed by a front desk no far from his main office, it was Ashley.

"Hey babes," Felix said, in his usual flirty tone.

Ashley refused to turn to look at her superior. Instead, she kept on staring at her pad and answered, "Good morning, Coordinator."

Knowing that he didn't have the time to repair his relationship with the heart broken woman, Felix simply continued forward where he was greeted by a series of insincere colleagues.

On his way down to the hangar levels, Felix met and shouted at a few more co-workers whom he thought wasn't being careful enough with what they were doing. After all, it's his duty to keep the facility from blowing up. He was one of those rare executives who are more concerned about their responsibilities than enjoying their privileges and money, for now.

The trip to the hangar was rather uneventful, just how Felix likes them. He appeared at the entrance to the hangar just as people from both sides formed committees for the send off. The hangar bay still retained most of the apparatus and instruments used for the inspection. Looks like I'll have a bit to coordinate after these have left, Felix thought to himself. The atmosphere seems fairly relaxed and everyone seems happy with the outcome of this operation, except for that "Mimic" guy. That guy is just an arsehole, Felix thought, shouldn't he at least be glad that we did him a big favour by giving him the verdict he wants?

Felix cursed at the man mentally. However, as a master of concealing his true emotions, he approached with an almost unnatural grin on his face.

"Greetings, Captain Mimic. It's my pleasure to inform you that, after rigorous testing and questioning, you and your crew have passed our standard alien infestation detection procedures.

Also, I think I've found the culprit in your crew which may be the cause of your command's concerns. Yes, we did find an infested human amongst your crew who was hidden for the whole time. And yes, we eliminated the alien threat. Unfortunately, that crew member is now dead, his corpse processed and irretrievable. We do apologise for the minor inconvenience.

On behalf of Cryer Pharmaceuticals Health & Safety department and as the executive supervisor for this operation, I'd like to thank you for your cooperation throughout the inspection and vital information you've provided us with.

That was the formal part. Now, as a form of reward for our services, we expect to establish a public relations contract with you and your crew. That mean, the advertising of our company and its products. I've already had our engineers modify the Imitator's transponder systems to display a short commercial every time it's being scanned. Just make as many mentions of us as you can, for example – 'Those contraceptive pills from Cryer worked really well for me and my girlfriend, with a 99.999999975% successful rate!' or 'Man, am I glad to have taken that stimulating drink from Cryer before breakfast, now I'm super hyperactive and my urine glows in the dark!' Well, you get the idea." Felix said and extended his hand out to Mimic, anticipating a handshake.

"Or not..." Felix muttered to himself and retracted his hand as Mimic simply turned around and headed towards his shuttle. "Cursed ill-mannered bounty hunters, if we had a sizable security force you'd be out of work long ago."

Well, this particular "operation" was rather inconvenient to say the least, Felix thought to himself. He slowly made his way to the offices as workers and scientists returned to scuttle the equipment in the hangar bay. The hangar was alive again, with hundreds of people moving about and helping to return the massive bay to its original state.

"This is executive coordinator Cabulb, requesting General Lab Inspection and Adminstration team beta." He activated his pad and spoke into the communicator.

"GLIA Beta leader here. What's up, boss?"

"I'm assigning your team to watch over hangar bay omega's renovation, don't disappoint me."

"Roger that, we'll be down there in ten minutes."

"Make it five, you lazy sods."

Normally, Felix would organise an important clean up operation like this for that anual bonus. But no amount of money can repair a broken heart.

A loud rumbling could be heard, the superstructure of Atka station groaned under strain as the the Imitator's colossal engine arrays activated and began to propel the battleship away from the station's mooring fixtures. Felix stopped at a window to watch the bounty hunter war machine slowly disappear in the ocean of stars, knowing that many more lives would be taken under the command of that demented man of a captain - Mimic.

"To cure madmen."

in good relations, just like he did with that damm mini razor probe of his.

Ill remember to write down his name what was it hmmm Felix yeah thats it.
Ill hopefully come across him somewhere one day or another haha-ha
Ohh what a joyous day that will be haha-ha, or maybe ill just turn the Imitator
around and fire a mortar at his damm lab hahaha-ha. Anyway ive wasted
enough time here in this hell hole i have worms to squash and Admirals to torture.

Hhahahaha-ha ...Damm where is my donut cushion.
