So i have an idea about spaceship crew.
By now those guys are avaliable as a commodity, and i thing will be better to make them as equipment.
For example:
When you buying a big ship, you cant undock without crew, so you going into market and buying a crew (the members could be males and females, and maybe unique to each faction).
So if you buying a gunboat, you Need to buy 3 or 4 members, then you mount them (yes, mount, as like scanner) and when all crew is "installed" you can undock.
Pluses:
You wount loose your crew when your ship will be destroyed (they will escape in pods).
And it will be much realistic when all big ships will be with crew (also it will be able to get special bonuses from them, for example, if you buying a radio-operator you get some scanning bonus and (not necessary) ability to speak in system chat.

I like it. Especially since they could take damage like any other component (ie. be killed off in a battle). Pirate battle kills all your crew and your dead in space until you hail out an SOS and some kind soul flies out a salvage crew to rescue you. Or, if people didn't want to go that hardcore, an emergency autopilot to the nearest inhabited world.
It would make for some interesting battles and RP'ing. Of course 1 shot snac kills would make it moot anyway.

I think this is a great idea to improve the quality of roleplay and immersion. I've always liked to have crew members to show up in a scan but putting them in the cargo hold seems out of place.
However, sadly, it's too trivial and you'll get responses similar to "it's not worth it", "don't fix what's not broken" or "devs have other important things to do".

maybe you are right, but why anyone else cant make this thing?
i think its not hard to make an additional equip.
also it would be nice to give names to your crew (awesome RP) and make them be able in bar, so you can talk with them or, maybe, give some instructions
