Freelancer Windowed with no "freezing"

As you lot know, you can run Freelancer in window mode. But there's a problem of that if you switch to another window the screen in freelancer.exe "freezes" until you make it active again.

I hear there's some software availible that "updates" what's happening on screen.

Is it true and if yes, share please? Would be pretty handy.

I know this happens in windowed mode, but I never heard of this "software" you're talking about. Anyone?

I think someone found a DirectX windower program which did this.

Slow lagnom is slow.

Since I found that in the search, sharing with everyone again.

I downloaded Direct3D Windower and I could resize my window but no updates to the screen if I deselected it. I have a Radeon 9800 so at first I though that is the problem. But after some changes to the settings I got it working! This is what I did:

1. Download Direct3D Windower
http://www.filefront.com/13838785/D3DWindower-English/

2. Click the plus button to add freelancer.exe

3. Click the settings tab

4. Click "foreground control" tab

5. Check "Enable foreground control"

6. Click "Run Program" (not enable emultaion)

7. Don't quit Direct3D Windower while ingame! biggrin.gif

Stuff quoted above is tested and works fine.

To those who can't get it to work, I couldn't get it either, but try copying the D3dhook dll into the freelancer/exe folder...

Made it work for me..
