Re: War in the omicrons?
Greetings, mr. Rhyme.
I must admit to be both surprised and concerned by this. The bounty hunters guild, and by extension, the "Core", as that subdivision calls itself, are not generally inclined to strike civilian targets. Especially those that often serve as waystations and places to repair. Your message did not indicate any reasoning for their sudden hostility. We know the "Core" had some operations going in the Tau systems, near the newly discovered Gallic systems. What exactly, we don't know, but we do know that they pulled the majority of their resources back south. Until your communique, we did not know why.
I am however not sure how much help we can be. With continuous pressure from the Outcasts, the majority of our forces is needed to defend the Tau bases. Since we have no interests or bases in the Omicron systems, our information about these systems is rather limited... I believe most of them are either Corsair hives, Outcast hives, or worse, Nomad hives. Not the most ideal places for a mining guild. Still, I will confer with our other directors, and we'll see what we can do.
Knowing the motives behind the Core's actions would help however. I wish you strength in the coming days.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders, IMG Research and Development directorate

Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.
Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.
Freeport 5 is not mentioned as target, but our ships operate in Omicrons, thus we are indirectly affected by this aggression.
We can't lead any military action, we are trading post, and we don't have military forces.
We have to be careful, to not provoke direct military action against our station.
I doubt we can count on support from Leon in this case. It seems they don't fight against BHG in Omega 41. I saw they avoid each other.
We have here several dozen civilians, women, children, we must care about them first. We of course are ready to aid our brothers in Omicrons, as much as let us our tight resources.
We will probably ask all BHG personel to leave and avoid our station, we can't guarantee their safety. We will be waiting and watching. Remains hope, the sanity will come soon.
[font=Comic Sans Ms] Mr. Sanders, to be succinct the war appears, at this stage, to be one of conquest in cooperation with the Corsairs. All perceptions suggest that the ultimate goal of the Core, as given, is to take Zoner holdings in the region for themselves to serve as springboards for operations against the Order and further into the deep.

Corsairs!
Corsairs....Corsairs, Corsairs, CORSAIRS! WRRAAAAAGH!.....I hate Corsairs.
Why am I not surprised those treacherous rats are at the heart of this! Those Core officers are fools if they think that they won't have their backs stabbed by them when their guards are down. What are they thinking?! Nope, there's no way we are gonna watch Corsair gain control of Theta. We know they want it we've seen them try before recently and now we learn of it again with the co-operation of the Core. Can you imagine what that would mean for all of Sirius if they gained complete control of a major link within the route for the Deuterium. Without that Deuterium we are missing a vital componant for H-fuel. With todays demands there's no way we can keep up if being hindered by Corsairs daily in a system gained control of. Even now this destabilization to the surrounding Zoners is already being felt as less is imprted while they defend and in order to ensure that there is fuel for tomorrow we need to reduce quotas that will no doubt have an impact on house operation including the wars when their reserves run low to match.
It's decided, we can't tolerate the reduction we have to have now and we certainly can't tolerate a Zoner loss in this hidden unscrupulous war. For the sake of ensuring stability and peace of mind we are now coming to help defend the Zoners. I am one who does not wish to wake up 5 yrs from now learning of the many deaths happening across Sirius because there wasn't enough fuel to tranport the needed oxygen, water and food to stations and planets that can't produce any and then thinking we should have been there to prevent this. We are gonna go now and we will go with a clear conscious. Rest assured too that our distributors RepEx and Kishiro are receiving the news of this as they will notice the reduction in quotas, it's our obligation to provide the reason and evidence as to why. From there we can well imagine that their clients will be informed and provided with the explanation.
I will relay this here, especially since seeing the words of the guildmaster.
Quote:Hone, a blond man, walks into the bar;
"Hello Zoners, I have just docked here after parting company with my escort;"
"As soon as I heard about this insane war the Core has, inexplicably launched, I rushed up here, with an emergency relief shipment of hull panels, for your damaged ships and stations, to the shipyard in Omicron 74:"
"I have no wish to make an enemy of the BHG, but the actions of the Core are Inexcusable! I am sure that at least several of the high ranking officers must be infested, if not DiVirgo himself, as this action can ONLY help the Nomads. Add to that the fact that they are apparently allying with the Corsairs, my sworn enemy, (and this is not such a big surprise, remember where the BHG came from...) indeed, I believe the Corsairs are sworn enemies of pretty much every lawful people, and many unlawful ones, and this means that even though I am only a franchisee of the GMG, Zoners are still my friends, and I will help you."
"I am not sure what military help I could really offer - You have seen my ship - although there is a Freelance Nyx I could get up here to help out - for a fee - but if you need supplies shipped, or want to work out some sort of specific-goods-order I can Deliver, please let me know"
"For now, I just want some dinner"
Turns to look for a pretty waitress
"Whatcha got cookin?"
I will help my friends if you want me to.
However, I am confused guildmaster; why would this disrupt the deuterium supply, when we can get it from O49?

The deuterium shortage is no projected theory, it is a reality. Zoner transports that were previously dedicated to the shipment of deuterium are understandably unable to meet their quotas. This sudden and unanticipated drop has cut down GMG's HFuel production significantly. We have relied on deuterium imports to supplement our own gaseous resources for nearly two decades to keep up with the high demands of increased militarization. Until 815, GMG shipments of deuterium from Omega-49 were run through Bretonia. After Kusari and Bretonia went to war, Bretonian military and police sweeps began intercepting GMG's deuterium transports ordering the jettison of all cargo. Shortly after, Doc Holliday volunteered to mediate in negotiations with Bretonia. Unfortunately, Bretonia failed to recognize GMG's sovereignty from Kusari and the importance of these deuterium shipments to all of Sirius. Thus, the GMG was forced to seek the assistance of Zoners in establishing deuterium supply lines through the deep Omegas and Omicrons.
Now, with many Zoners in danger of annihilation at the hands of Corsairs and Core Hunters, and our deuterium supply lines in jeopardy, we have no choice but to intervene.
