The ship has taken extensive damage. There are multiple hull breaches and the primary internal communications array is offline. All damage control parties are ordered to stations. All other crew are instructed to assist damage control and search for survivors.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Damage to the communication array is more extensive than first thought and we are unable to call for help. Repairs to critical systems are continuing and we expect to have power to the cruise engines within 24 hours.
The motivation behind this attack is unknown although it is clear that we were hit with multiple high yield 'mortar' class nuclear weapons. Fragmentary sensor records indicate this weapon is likely of Liberty manufacture.
We will make our way to the nearest Freeport and make enquiries.
It looks like they were after the old council records. That's the only explanation I can think of. Otherwise we just are not worth the credits they spent on the ammo. A regular pirate would have tried at least to demand something from us yet there was no message but some chatter about Liberty restricted areas. Rogers was killed and the comms records destroyed so I cannot be certain what was said.
Better keep those records secure until we find a better place to hide them. For now, I have no plan except to get to a Freeport and complete repairs.
