The idea is self explanatory. Let's see if we can make together a supreme justice authorithy for Sirius to deal with problems between factions, not players.
*How many judges?
*Who will be?
*Law?
*Trials?
*Pirates and Law authorithy
*Lawyers (companies)?
A. While there is a degree of inter house cooperation, it has massively declined since the SP Campaign's era.
B.Criminal and lawful factions will be very unlikely to recognize the same authority.
C.Outcast and Corsairs will be EXTREMELY unlikely to recognize the same authority.
D.The Coalition will not recognize a Sirius authority
E.The Miralukans will not recognize a Sirius authority.
F.The C'tan and the Phantoms will not recognize a Sirius authority.
G.The Dom Kavash and the Nomads will not recognize a human authority.
H.There is no truly neutral faction in Sirius within roleplay. The Zoners are threatened by Nomads and Corsair threats, and they are the closest thing to it.
The colonials might feel odd about someone from out of their civilization to make them obey their laws.
We turned IMG for a reason (and are a different civilization with good enough laws)
Nice idea anyway - imo it should be a Liberty-based court - much like the court in Strasbourg - human rights, war crimes etc... Not many recognize it, (because frankly the court shouldn't be recognized) but still the world powers like the US and Europe make puny lil' dictators like Saddam or Milosevic stand before it.
Likewise, I think Rheinland, likely the most, shall we say, lenient when it comes to human rights house, would sooner start dismantling their military then recognize a Liberty based court of law as superior to their own.
However, the possibility of internal house courts and indeed the general implementation of court systems (both criminal tribunals, court martials, civil courts and criminal courts) could be a very interesting path. But taking it to Sirius level is too much of a stretch, especially across all factions.
I don't know, sometimes we take the factional oppositions and tensions too seriously I think. There has to be SOME inter group peace for the economy in Sirius to function. And just because people don't like to let international bodies tell them what to do doesn't mean they don't participate. Just look at the UN Security Council. The US, Russia, and China are all in a war to see who gets the most vetoes of otherwise unanimous options.
It might not be a particularly functional or potent body but it could be a fun little arena to show off and develop the complicated inter-Sirius politics of the day.
