Gee I'd like to go to that fight 3 systems away but instead of a 5-10 minute flight it now takes 20 minutes or more because the NPC's disrupt the TL's about 3 times per system.
With a trader:
Lots of routes are nerfed, and those that aren't take for ever because of the hyperactive NPC's. Oh, and the trader is in serious danger on each run. Trade for 40 minutes and make.... 10 mill. Yay.
Seriously, the NPC's in the new mod are too much. Now, when I play, I'm almost always just annoyed. Its no fun. This is the first complaint I've ever posted, but I'm bugged.
Please bring 'the NPC's down a notch in the final version. I don't mind them being stonger, just that they show up all the time.
Am I being a big baby, or does anyone else feel this way?
Well ... as a pirate it is a bit much to see 3 NPC battleship groups show up nearly simultaneously above planets. I don't mind them so much ... unless of course there's player characters that show up and decide to engage me. Then I gotta avoid the NPCs and either fight or run.
Yes ... a bit annoying ... but only when there are other human players around. I hate it when military / police types use these battleship groups as cover. When they start flying close to these groups, I generally just wait to see whether they come back after me ... cause I ain't goin in after them.
Pirates don't disrupt TLs any more than they used to. The only difference is they are now stronger, and their CDs go faster than cruise. TLs don't get changed.
Small fighter patrols are fine. Whats completely ridiculous is the BS patrols. It would take 5 BSs to down ONE NPC BS within 10 minutes. BS vs NPC BS would take longer than any pvp fight. Not to mention those BSs also get Cr and GB escorts. They have 3 times the firepower of a player BS. Not to mention the BS has about 20 times the amount of a player BS.
Yeah, I just developed a nice suite of trade runs legal, illegal and all in RP....all nerfed to some extent in the last beta...now all the runs I can find some financial interest in are short and boring. I miss my long cross sirius trade runs that stopped at like 8 bases....what is going on here....
As far as NPCs go....i suppose they are a bit annoying but i generally don't have too many issues with them unless I'm trying to pirate someone or in a PvP situation as archelon mentioned
The NPC battleships are too powerful...bring them down. I don't think there should be pirates sitting outside of New Berlin, though, so they shouldn't be too concerned...

Trade routes seem to have dried up...but, then, too many traders just grind...lets make them work for their BS.
NPCs are fine: finaly, it takes skill to survive against the pilots of Sirius.

Trade routes were changed again? Blarg. It was fun to discover them all the first time, no real problem finding them the second time, but now it's just getting to be a chore.
And I think NPC power can go overboard... Even in the old version, it was bloody difficult to complete the missions even in NY with a newbie-level fighter, and elsewhere it was nearly impossible to solo missions in a Mk2 LF. Hell, it was difficult to survive NPC fighter encounters in a Mk2 LF.
I think NPC fighter encounters need to be balanced against player fighters, and NPC capship patrols need to be balanced against player capships.
Many MANY of the npcs are much harder than they initially seem to be. When it takes 6-7 full volleys of my missiles from my GB to take out a Wrath that has 11k armor, it's a bit wrong don't you think? And when the npc's can dodge any shot you make and turn the totally opposite direction instantly, just too hard for most people.
I went through a system the other day and the name escapes me atm but 4 out of the 5 trade lanes got disrupted it seems you cant travel through a system with out it happing
NPC's seem to be permantly stationed at 9 out of 10 tradelanes
