Gail scanned her retina past her ship's mooring and she boarded. This was going to be a short little trip, she thought. The Universal Ship Indentifier was still active and she could use the gates for a little while. She would be free of Liberty very quickly. Damnable place, and people. Odd ivory tower and its baubles.
She threw herself from the Ageira Technologies port and breezed through the ports to discover the Cortez jump hole that she used. SHe already encountered a few Liberty Police ships that wanted to stop her starflier where it stood but Lane Hackers came through the Hole with a blur and nearly collided with the four of them. SHe quickly turned on the Police and joined with the Hackers to scathe the Police and tractor the floating bodies into her compartment. Needless to say the Hackers were not impressed. Their guns fired upon her as she was pulled through the Hole.
The Cortez SYstem was easily as rugged. A large shipping vessel identified as the The-Zoe-Lea was pestered by Rupus.Miltai and was asking for Millions. They were bartering back and forth and the Rogues chasing Gail caught around the other two and left Gail alone. Gail wanted to side with the Rogues and the Hackers! She found her way through the California portal again and destoryed a few more Liberty Police officials just to eventually sell them back to the Liberty Rogues just hours later.
Gail took a look at her first day or two of chaos after leaving Ageira Technologies and it was going to take some work. It wasn't going to be easy for her to get in touch with the people who she wanted to.
The Rogues took me in after a number of Pirhanas and a few Patriots spun out of control. Other Rogues took my captured, corrupted pilots from my hold and sold them off as their own. Vultures. Maybe the move was part of out mercy, maybe they needed a warm body for some of their missions. Soon they turned.
I walked the escape pods through the cargo hold on Buffalo base and the Brigmaster gave me a toothy grin. The next few days meant I was bringing in a few pods to him and his imps. I don't think they were expecting quite that kind of welcome home message while still being deep in Libertyspace. I felt warmer yet still not vindicated. I had to leave Libertyspace and find a home beyond these core worlds.
I kicked the Starflier to the side and found my grips around the stick of a Dagger. It cut around the debris surrounding Buffalo Base like a sculptor's tool. I would be keeping this vehicle for some time. I fitted it with some simple equipment until I reached my destination a few systems away.
I dropped off another 17 lothing bounty hunters into the prison ward of Buffalo Base before slamming the brig shut. I shook the Commissar's hand and went back to my grungy room where I stored a few personal items and a set of prettier clothes other than this flight suit. I thought about putting them on for a split second, wishing for a day back on Planet Los Angeles but the days were long gone. Petulent bickering over gates and trade lanes were the worst and the heirarchy of madness that the Libery Police created just led to more inner corruption. It was enough to make her head spin. I afforded myself a new pair of gloves and a Deluxe Thruster before I packed the rest of my bags. Changing out the engine components wouldn't take long at all.
My feet clanged on the grates as I carried my pack and bag through the bulkheads. The smell of cooked cardamine floated and it was appealing but not quite my thing, not quite yet. I'm sure I would come around to it in time. I packed just a little bit to play around with when I made it to my next destination, Mactan.
The new thruster didn't take much time to get used to. I slipped in and out of the Rogue channels and found my way to the Jump Holes. The Lanes were all but shut down to me now. Going near them meant taking some stray, heated particles to my shields or up my exhaust panels. No thanks, for the moment. I had some Cred built up with the Rogues that would make me look well with the Hackers, enough to get me aboard Mactan. Hopefully well enough to do a few missions for them when I got there.
I spun out of the Magellan Jump Hole and there were some Outcasts and Lane Hackers conversing. It was interesting to have that feeling like I was being scanned from the moment I was fully, temporally in the Magellan system. I could see a glimmer of something inside the heat shields, the look of actual people who may have aknowledged who I was. I throttled forward and spun through the asteroids to Mactan.
Now here I look for work, take missions and hope to be recognized by the Lane Hackers -- In Time.

It was moved from there. I PM'd the powers that be and it continues to exist here.
