So you get a system with a series of bases, but the bases a neutral so anyone can dock on them. You then link it to systems that are reasonably close so that opposing factions can access them easily.
Players will then battle over the system until one side is eliminated and they can reap the benefits of a profitable trade route or mining field once the war is over. Make it so if you die in one of these "battle systems" you can't come back for another 8 hours.
Contemplating the idea of no RP required before pvp in such systems and everyone on the other side is fair game (yup you're CAU VIII freighters will be shot down by battleships).
Would have to limit to two factions at a time to avoid people Q_Qing after being shot by a semi friendly faction.
It's basically for the leet pvp enthusiasts or those who join the server mainly for pvp (or the new guys that aren't quite sure how to RP properly yet).
An upside is that it will draw the lolwuts away from people trying to have an in depth RP.
Another upside is that it gives an epic battleground for extreme battles.
A downside is if the lolwuts spend all their time there, they'll never get to experience in depth RP or it.
Another downside is that it might draw too many players, leaving too many empty systems.
This is a RP server not a PVP server, if you wanna pvpwhore go play Void its fun to PVP there its amazing.
EDIT: And you can't really implement that kind of systems in a RP Sirius, its just, dare i say it OORP.
(And no i'm not trolling, my point is valid and that's that).

Well we have conn, but I thought it would give another basic thing to do (like trading, mining, escorting). It's not totally OORP as factions do have wars, all it does is allow wars to be fought like wars.
I do get where you're coming from though and I expected a response such as yours (in fact I'd be worried if I didn't).
Edit:
' Wrote:Nah we dont need another OORP system.. We already have connecticut and it is causing enough trouble already..
It's not OORP, it's a warzone. What problems is conn causing (other than people docking there cause they can't dock in Liberty)?
It is half OORP since you did say "lolwuts" would be there and other things similar..
EDIT: And the thing you said about CAU VIII Freights being bombed by Battleships is also kinda.. well OORP because why would a Battleship waste resources inRP just to -try- and shoot down a Freighter...
Limiting it to 2 factions, hmm, not the best idea, considering some factions *cough* OC *cough* have most of their players as pvpwhores and their enemies in the Taus (Hint: My sig) IMG are more skilled in RP then in PVP as far as i know and heard from other faction members, so allowing allies wouldn't be bad. But that's just my opinion if they are really going to implement this even though i would vote not to. And also Conn can be RP-ed as practice or training and other stuff... testing etc..
I'm sorry yall but I need to side with Chet on this one.
Yes I get your point that it would indeed be slightly in RP for the war zone effect, but it is mostly ooRP that will be done there. Since as you stated engagement notifications would be void there and traders would be able to get attacked by battleships. From those things alone that sounds more PvP whore than anything.
So I must say that this is indeed a bad idea. Sorry.

Just no to that bold section. If new people were to join and need to learn how to "RP properly" than they should read the rules.
Also I dont see how you could possibly enforce the two factions in it at a time. Indies would run rampant in there.

It's not meant to be a place you take you're transport through. No one in their right mind would take a hold of cargo through a place where mortars are being traded.
Good to see so many people valuing RP over pvp.
We've established that in it's current state it's not suitable for Discovery GC, does anyone have any ideas on how it could be improved so that it could become a part of Discovery GC?
