I know that you're not alloud to curse/insult/flame in another language in any sort of chat, but what if it is completely RP? Say your a rheinland ship and you can speak german, are you alloud to communicate with other rheinalnders in german over system or any other chat?
for example:
-rheinlander 1 "hallo, wie get es dir?" (hello, how are you doing?)
-rheinlander 2 "gut, und dir?" (good, and you?)
and so on, and so on.
Just curious before I do something stupid.:)
many thanks.

if it is a genarally known word like 'nien' and 'Ja' there shouldnt be a problem. But discussing nuclear phisics in German is a nono.

Well, adding in a word in or two is alright... But using in full sentences may be taken the wrong way, as some will have no idea what it means.

I'm glad this was brought up...I was curious myself about it.

Even though english is THE language on the server, I always figured that natives of Rheinland would speak their mother tounge.

Personally, as long as it's spoken in moderation, & in character, a sentance here & there simply adds to the Rheinland atmosphere.

But hey...it's just my opinion, & I'm full of those:P

Adding too many lines in any other language may seem to make others think there is a hidden agenda.:nono:

What I did once was something like this:

Guten Tag, Herr <charactername>. ((Good day, Mr. <charactername>))

I think it adds depth to RP, but I say you always make sure people around you know what you're talking about, it's your responsibility if you decide to do that. Also, that's the polite thing to do.

My opinion was already spoken out by other players here.

Add some words to your text, but only the known ones. Such as ja, nien. gutten tag etc. Make it english language with german ascent. That way you will speak german in RP way, but people will still be able to understand you in english. Thumbs up.
