Good day miners, Lieutenant JD Masket of the LPI here. I have been asked to contact you regarding the acquisition of some of your technology, specifically the Nyx VHF.
The ships would be used solely by an elite division of the LPI, primarily for tracking and investigating high-profile criminals as well as escorts and system security duties. Since they will not be used beyond this precinct, we feel that eight ships would be enough for our needs.
This arrangement would benefit your organization directly, as we often see IMG transports hauling extremely valuable ore through Liberty space, so the more well equipped we are, the safer you are. We can also offer no fee escort services through Liberty to any of your ships upon request, when there is an officer available.
This would also improve the IMG's standing with the lawful forces of Liberty significantly, as well as go a long way to mending any damage to that image caused by unlawful mercenaries and pirates using your equipment in the past.

The Guild has received your request. Unfortunately, due to the precarious position we are in in respect to Liberty's ongoing conflict with Rheinland, this is not a decision I can make alone.
I do require some clarifications, that I'm sure our defense division director will ask as well: Does the LPI intend to use this technology against Rheinland (or, given the recent rumors, Kusari) vessels within Liberty? And which systems and regions exactly would this vessel be deployed in? I cannot stress enough that the Independant Miners Guild does not wish to become involved in any conflict between houses. We are miners and explorers, not soldiers, unless forced into that role. The use of IMG vessels signals Guild affiliation, hence we're very careful with releasing these vessels. Furthermore, this vessel's final assembly is handled by our Tau allies, the Colonial Remnant - you'll need to be in good standing with them in order for them to grant you passage through their system.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders

Thank you for your quick response Mr. Sanders. Firstly, the LPI is a private company, and a police force. Therefore we do not participate in military actions. We will however take action to ensure the safety of civilians within the borders of Liberty, and if Rheinland or any other house military vessels become a threat within those borders, we will of course take action. Think of us more like a private security company than a government institution. To date we have had very few encounters with the Rheinland military, most of which were independent extremists who weren't even acting under orders from their government, and as for Kusari we have yet to have any negative interactions with them. Whenever possible though, we do leave such matters for the Liberty Navy to deal with.
As for our zone of operation, it is the entirety of Liberty space. No more, no less.
I hope these answers are satisfying for you and your associates.

Mr. Masket,
While we recognize, and appreciate you are trying to accomodate our worries, the recent developments between Liberty and Kusari have caused us to have to turn down your request. These events all too clearly show that technology usage signals affiliation, and while we recognize the Liberty Police Inc. is in fact a Libertonian corporation not directly affiliated with the Liberty government, it's role as primary law enforcement organization within Liberty ensures you have close ties to both the Navy and the government. We have turned down similar request for this reason - we want to avoid the appearance of bias towards any house, and that includes Liberty.
Should peace return to Liberty space, we will be happy to reconsider, but until then we consider it a political powderkeg to put our technology in the hands of a house law enforcement agency.
You are however welcome to acquire a similar frame, the Charon type fighter. It handles largely similar, and although officially classified as a very heavy fighter, it's performance is more akin to that of a standard heavy fighter in terms of maneuvering and firepower. We have the Charon freely available on Freeport 4 if you wish to aquire these vessels - they are open to the civilian market as well.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders
