Picking up on the mini bandwagon with the factions malarky, it got me thinking when I was drinking, what would I actually do with the ability to control a recognized faction? Would I change or update their RP? Chance their politics? Change their targets?
Its a hard question for me personally, since I'm a horrible leader. I think if given the chance, I'd add a new 'sub-corp' for the BHG, the ones who take whats called 'black ops' for Houses. As in, if you pay us enough, we'll engage certain targets, House or criminal. While this pushes them into a more mercenary role, it could add some flavor, and controversy especially with ID's. Maybe its a mistake altogether. I dunno, likely is.
Anyway, what would you actually do with a faction if given control?
I had control of a couple of factions a few times.
People have since learned to not let me touch such things, since I'm horrible at it.

-make all order ships drop the faction tag and change name (change transponder codes) frequently so they can move through systems with more secrecy
-force anyone who wants a command position within the Order to give pvp lessons to Order noobs, and make them encourage noobs to rp and be disciplined
-Organize the Order into separate cells that can function independently
-execute any Order agent that tries to stop other Order ships from attacking nomad ships for the sake of "fairness"
-pick up secret diplomatic relations with all unlawful factions for docking rights and collaboration
-form a limitted alliance with the Rheinland government to fight the wilde and nomads
-use intrigue and trickery (including false flag operations) to start a conflict between nomads and gallia
-launch major fleet offensives against Iota, 99, Tuhoku, and the wilde gate construction site at least one time per day
-develop technologies to also detect cloned humans, not only infected humans. If humans can clone and indoctrinate humans, so can nomads and infected
-capture or destroy the shrine
-have non-Order tagged agents all over Sirius to eliminate morphs where ever they pop up, and to gather information on humans that are friendly to nomads and morphs
Anybody here who has a long enough memory will remember what I'd do (and did do, very, very violently). Albeit, my newer goals would honestly be less population-controlling and more territory-gaining and getting some action stirred up in the neighborhood.

I'd likely try and invite a few new players who show potential as roleplayers and like to teamplay. I'll also try and maintain some diplomatic relations with other factions and make these clear to the rest of the faction, to get some serverwide RP going here and there.

Forgive my optimism, apart from SCRA and Keepers, I'd like this to happen anyway.
Fair enough on the diplomacy side of thing, though can I ask as who as?

The ones that are stricken through are already done.
The ones that are green are in progress or on the drawing board.
The ones that are red will not happen, most likely for anti-power-gaming purposes.
The singular one that is yellow needs further explanation. (I would like to know how someone false flag's a difference species. In the nomad embassy on Manhattan perhaps?)
No idea about the non-stricken through. Will take the ideas on board.
