The modifiers are a bit lower, but they are still there - it doesn't help the situation. Graviton shields are still used by a vast majority of ships for this reason.
This is something that I'd like to see. Shield effectiveness and gun variation can add all sorts of new and interesting setups to the game.
One thing that Disco doesn't seem to take much advantage of are the damage modifiers here. We could be doing a lot more with them. At the very least, we could assign gun-types to the larger capship and transport turrets so that they can get in on it.
And we all know that people tend to use some sort of pulse weapon, so we all usually go for Graviton shields. I would like to see that changed, though. More reason for variation! Please, let's do something about this.
