Object: Nomad Threat spotted in Edinburgh with new allies
To all who try to avoid the contamination,
Yesterday was a sad day...
As we had planned to escort some diplomats on Yacht in Edimburgh, we spotted a strange Echo on Long range Scan. An echo similar to one we have had few days before in Gallia.
Because of this Echo and some Outcasts Capitals ships seen around Taus, We decided to transport the diplomats in Fleur de rose and to escort it with "Le.Descartes" and "Fleur.de.Lys"
The only ships available at the moment.
Arrived in Edinburgh, we saw an incredible scene: we had arrived while some NLH, an Indie zoner named "MaverickV" (probably an usurpator, as he knew nothing about our relationship with zoners nor the ORI threat...) were communicating with a Nomad unknown ship of Capital class size. This Nomad ship was freely flying around, some NLH in their communications appeared stranges, possibly Infected.
We decided to shorten the meeting and to leave the area, to avoid any comflict.
Then, while our ships were leaving , Gaians, Nomad vessel, zoner and a Junker disrupted us then stroke cowardly and viciously our Destroyer who only began to defend after all atempts to calm down the probably infected strikers had failed.
Fleur de Rose tried to interfer in the strike but too late, he was suddenly targeted and had to defend but too late too.
Fleur De Lys managed to flee but was hunt down until TAU37 and shot down by a nomad vessel assisted by other agressors.
The Gaians agressors pretend themselves friends of the council Primary Fleet and its General, "Du Lac"...
Unfortunately, The council Primary fleet leaders being missing, we didn't get any answer from them.
We never saw the Gaians helping us in Any way before, though lots of us are former Primary fleet Soldiers, maybe they helped the brigands... Maybe one more lie...
Anyway, it is not our duty to interfer in sirians affairs, our wish is just to build relationship with all of them sharing our values of peace and respect of human dignity.
But we have to let all sirians willing to defend against nomad threat know about this.

Subject: Failed diplomatic envoy
Mr. Atris,
I understand that the Gallic culture has developed differently from most of the Sirian houses, given their 8 century long isolation. Thus, I will give you a few friendly pointers to ensure that a repeat of this failure does not occur.
1: Multiple battleships entering the space of another sovereign house is considered an act of war in Sirius, not a diplomatic envoy. Transport class vessels (in most cases luxuary liners) or gunboat class vessels form the bulk of diplomatic envoys. If there is the threat of a hostile warship interdiction, send a few bombers ahead to burn a path through.
2: Generally, it is wise to announce your presence ahead of arrival, in cases where you try to establish a diplomatic relation with another house or group within a house.
3: From your communique I can make out you angered the Gaians, for some reason, prior to the Nomad vessel joining in the attack. I do not know the reason for it, but I can venture a guess. Took the "shortcut" into Edinburgh by chance? Again, it's considered polite to ask for permission prior to passing through a system controlled by another faction.
As for the nomads - they are an unpredictable threat to all human life, but in many cases not agressive until provoked. Perhaps the presence of a large-sized vessel caused it to attack you, I cannot say. Part of the Bountyhunters and a strange group called "The Order" both have some interest and experience in fighting Nomads. In this case it appears the Gaians were so angry with you that they simply felt no reason to interdict a Nomad attack on your vessels.
Some lessons I suppose must be learnt in a painful way.
Regards,
- Johnathan Sanders, on behalf of the Independent Miners Guild

From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.
Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.
Im from The Order, and personally, alot is missing. Though siding with a Nomad is never good, diplomatic convoys usually are not capitals, or maybe One battleship and a swarm of snubs.
As I said alot is missing. I saw really nothing but the NLH trying to avoid fighting the Nomad.
Show us the entire conversation between you and them, then I will see about informing the gods in the marble halls.
If they dont get this first.

Tsk, tsk. You fools still try to justify your position after flying right into a perfectly calm area, and started slinging accusations.
I was unaware that gallics even knew of the 'nomads', let alone had such a high knowledge of their abilities. And we did not ally with them. It was simply a situation of convenience. If something doesn't want to fight, well, i'm not one to argue.
Your bold arrogance got your ships decimated.
You slung accusations, insulted me -personally-, and even fired upon my salvager. You could've killed my -whole family-, in a TRANSPORT SHIP which had no part within the fight.
If I were you, I would reconsider my position. Because your 'white knight' standpoint isn't working so well.
Domus, Out.

Good to see you decided to leave Gallia and perform more fancy diplomatic moves! Now we'll be able to pillage and murder innocent miners and traders within Gallia's borders again!
Eh, huh, concerning those Nomads and Gaians... We don't care, both will be shot anyways. Good luck, mes amis! And avoid being shot again!
Bret: I...An usurper?....I could honestly care less about the ORI threat nor am I to worry about your negotiations with other zoners....I will state this...With such firepower, where were your men when I was being rescued by the Council from Gallia long ago?....You weren't there....And for such, unless you have shown reason for me to trust you, I sure the heck wont....And your men also had the gall, to fire upon the transport holding my wife and newborn daughter...I can assure you, that the next time to try to pull that stunt, I'll destroy any life pods coming from your vessels as they begin to burn up!...And on a few minor notes, I can assure you, that I am not infected...And if you had noticed on how my vessel was positioned from the said nomad, it was to protect the Domus...

Mr Sanders,
I thank you for your answer,
Actually, as i told, entering a non Gallic system with two capital ships was a solution, not a willing.
We usually ask permission prior to enter a house system and do it in light vessels.
And because we were worried about this fact, we tried to leave the system of Edinburgh after having clearly tried to talk.
Despite of the insults we received and the incredible scene we were seing, we were aware that our two capitals were placing us in a bad position regarding diplomatic issues.
We tried to leave at all costs. Le descartes only opened fire once it was almost destroyed. None among us appreciate violence, we fight by obligation, we try hard everyday to meet sirians and learn, this is not that easy.
Now, i point the fact that I will personnaly apologize to the Bretonian autorities for our presence with no prior request.
Please note i didn't notice the nomads were pacific forms of life.
Novus Domus,
Glad to see you're more polite and sympathic than the reports i had .
About the hazardous fire on your family, i'm sorry, sincerly, if that happens, i didn't see any evidence of that.
But if it's true, how it this ship was among the agressors ? How is it it was close enough to receive a shot though the descartes was trying to leave with thruster since minutes (as it was constantly disrupted) ?
Once again, the GAUL ship were trying to leave at all costs, you didn't let them a single chance though they had showed no aggressive intentions, what choice did you give to them but in the end trying to save their crew ?
Quote:Because your 'white knight' standpoint isn't working so well.
our ships are a bit too old and damaged to look like white knights horses. We saw too many horrors in the war we're at to still have this kind of idealist vision, but there is a HUUGE difference between pragmatism and Nihilism. Any politics, any revolution (as the opening of Gallia is) begins by an utopia...
Well, there's the evidence, I guess. You may or may not know, but it can be difficult to move a ship as large and slow as the salvager away from the tide of a battle, and the firing distance of a cruiser is hardly small. I kept my distance from the fight, until by 'accident' the tide of battle was turned towards me, enough to almost tear my ship to pieces before i could retreat. Hence how your cruiser was able to loose such fire...If he had been more co-ordinated with his shots, i'd be picking up the pieces of a destroyed ship right now.
Or worse.
If I was possibly a little rash during my last transmission, I apologise, thought I think i'm quite within my own right to be angry.
