Nah thanks. I never much liked WoW. I assume everyone has seen the South Park episode "Make love, not Warcraft" by now though XD
I'm personally waiting for Fallout 3 to come out. If that is possible to be made co-op single player or even multiplayer online, that'll kick ass. Far better than WoW:P
I for one can't stand it. At all. Considering a balanced arguemnet, most of the hate is actually qutie irrrational, but I can take my own opinions to the table. Nevertheless.
I hate the fact you have to keep paying for it - I paid for a game outright and I don't want to keep paying for it. This obviously isn't just with WoW, but with most MMORPGs. To be honest, I'm not all that much of an RPG fan. Unless there is lots of shooting, and it's at least vaugley plausible.
Fantasy a la max. The whole thing is just too far gone for me, druids? Mages? What? Get out of town. Now.
Finally it's image, round here everyone gets the piss ripped out of them for playing it, it's the modern day equivalent to 12 year old whiney kids on Counterstrike 1.6.
But yeah, even if Mr. T plays it. I aint gonna.
Ed: Well because me and these three chicks decided to have a cereal fight.
Ed: Then we got productive....
Ed: IN THE SHREDDIE TOWER MAKING DEPARTMENT.. before you say anything...
Dave: I feel like standing in the middle of the beach stripping down naked to put on a hula skirt playing pan pipes whilst I watch a pixie try to make love to a cow and have the evil sock goblins chase the 5 penguins of the Apocalypse across Timbuktu all whist my wife Sammie drinks vodka and red bull served by the rich penguins in the sun.
I think its OK, but I only do the instant 70 private servers from now on so I can experiment and not waste a year of my life and $400 to finally get somthing I could do in 5 seconds on a private server.
After years of playing retail WoW on and off im finally back but playing a private server atm.
WoWscape is prolly the best private server out their(since their the ones actually developing the emulation software that any of the good servers run on) It has 4 servers with varying rates - with one being pretty close to blizzlike (Legion) but with slightly accelarted rates ( half the grind mechanics in WoW is their to keep you paying anyway ) Theirs usually about 3-4k people on with the most ive saw being 15k
The playerbase their tends to be a lot more mature than your average blizz server, but their isnt an online game that doesnt have screaming kiddies on it regardless:P
I know private servers get a lot of hate for not being ultra perfect ( their is consantly things being broken or fixed, mostly due to a complete emulator overhaul for private servers that was basically starting from scratch on the all the scripting etc) others complain that the endgame stuff becomes too 'easy' but for me retail WoW had become a pointless grind up the tiers of sets to get slightly incremnetly better stuff to do slightly incrementaly harder raids to get other stuff - after T4 this is really just a hugely visible money/time sink.
Playerskill can factor into the game on private moreso than retail oddly, since equip difference at 70 on retail can be monumental between two players, but since anyone half decent is running around with most of the best stuff then you can finally get those even matches you always wanted:)
If anyone fancys coming and playing on WoWscape give me a shout and ill be happy to help you out with whatever.
If you have never played WoW before id recommend retail till you get sick of it:) It really can be quite magical, but when you have the knowledge of areas/quests/etc embedded in your brain for years it really loses its charm to grind your way through areas that havent changed in many many years.
Oddly enough ive always hate the WoW lore and universe, i just dont like how it looks but omg - i love stats, if their was a way i could play DnD several times a day with a vast variety of people in different scenarios then id do that instead but otherwise WoW is my RPG fix.
Love wow, been playing it and this game off and on for the last year or so. when i get burnt out on wow, i come back here and play for awhile then go back to wow.
My friend and his girlfriend play it religously. (she also works for Blizzard).
After 2 years of recommendations from him I tried the trial. I got fed up of Right-clicking an opponent and watch the fight after 20 minutes..
When I played SWG trial however got all 14 days worth out of it!:P
If only Sony didn't want so much for Monthly Subscription (and the fact that the land battles are nearly as point-and-click as WOW).

WoW is for those unfortunate few that are cross eyed & cant aim a gun or ship & will end up looking like Cartman in the SP episode featuring WoW.
you know just because of all the hype and everyone saying it's so good (well it seems to be that good since people get addicted to it really badly) i just couldn't give a f***...
