Hello there!

I'd like to talk to you about a ship...parts. You see, at one point, my beautiful piece of junk, the LosSnuggleros, was an Atlas. Or at least I think it was an Atlas. Anyway, over time, it has become less and less like an Atlas. I mean, the recycled ship hull panels don't look very good, especially when the cargo pods get really long as if they had two different radii instead of really equally distributed with a uniform radius. At this point it looks really rusty and incriminating.

Really what I am asking is not for a new ship, but rather for some new Atlas-ship parts to make my former-Atlas look more like a new-Atlas. That and radiation around age-old powercores which are sometimes inside of recycled ship hull panels does not help the skin or bones. Mostly bad for both. And the rest of my body. Mostly all of it. I guess my father proved that. Not exactly an old corpse when he became a corpse. But that's not important.

So really, how much would that cost? You can check the records about the LosSnuggleros. No criminal actions in Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari, or Rheinland, and hardly an instigator ever. Mostly moving around Pharmaceuticals, H-Fuel, Optical Chips, and Beryllium. Who has a problem with Pharmaceuticals, H-Fuel, Optical Chips, and Beryllium!? I hope no one.

Mr Blunt,

I had thought that junkers tend to be capable of patching up mostly any vessel. True, they eventually turn into a jury-rigged clutter that barely resembles the original, but they tend to run. I think I will need to direct you to two facilities. First, considering you mention parts of your ship to be irradiated, I would strongly advise you to berth at an ALG facility that can assist you in decontamination. Once radiation levels throughout your vessel are within ALG's recommended safety levels, make your way to Omega 3, to the Aland facility. If Aland detects dangerous levels of radiation they will refuse you to moor.
We both construct and maintain Atlas class vessels there, you should find the parts you need. Might be a bit expensive though, with all the conflicts going on, some parts are hard to come by. Quantum Multiplexers, fusion engine components, and optronics/Optical Chips mainly are hard to obtain for Aland. H fuel is also in demand, initiating a fusion torch tends to take a bit.

Considering your vessel is damaged, I'll not ask you to get us these prior to repairs, but we will need you to gather materials to replace the parts expended to repair your vessel. Until we can get a full report on the extent of the damage, or back maintenance, we'll be unable to tell you which parts are needed.

Well, I got your message, and immediately set off to the New Berlin system!

When I got there, they said I had to go and run through their special seeders with my ship. It was quite exhilarating. Needless to say, I sung "Ship Wash!" the whole time through. They weren't too happy, saying something about "Poorly encased fusion cores which needed to be enclosed," but when I told them that money was an object but I was willing to spend it, they agreed that they could resolve my issue. My microwave takes longer to cook now, but hey, what can a guy do?

I'll work on moving some stuff from Mannheim, Oder, and Los Angeles later. Cover all your bases on what I might need. Quantum Multiplexors might take a little bit of time, but hopefully that's not what I need.

Hi there.

Another update. Apparently I can dock at Aland, so I think the ALG ship wash did the trick. Maybe then your analysis will figure out what exactly makes my ship look so incredibly rusty.

Anyway, here's more parts. I tried to string together some of the chips into working Optronics, but it mostly turned into fire until my Los Angeles hotel manager kicked me out for setting off the alarm one too many times. I'll wait for some more confirmation from you before doing anything else.

Mr Blunt,

Optronics circuitry is indeed not something you would want to assemble yourself. Granted, if you have the base module to slot the optical microcircuity into, that would be childs play. But without the baseboards that's doomed to failure. We have sufficient in stock of those however, the optical chips were the main missing components. I also think you misunderstood my earlier offer - to reimburse us after repairs to your vessel were complete. But I suppose that is taken care of now.

A scan by Aland indicates that while the basic framework of your vessel still resembles that of the Atlas, it appears you have made extensive modifications. The side paneling has been replaced and elongated, and the two main cargo pods have been replaced by something resembling two silos. Most of the engine systems seem to be intact, although Aland reports unusual readings from the starbord engine, consistent with an overloaded stream. The third, nose engine mount is also missing. The central reactor module does not appear to belong to an Atlas class vessel at all. Judging from it's output, it's a Rheinland model, but it lacks the usual three-layer reactor shielding the Rheinland models tend to use. The reactor also appears to be in a degraded state and needs to be replaced.

With the supplies provided the shipwrights can restore the vessel to it's original state. It will be an extensive repair so I expect this to take some time. I'll refer you to the Aland local crew for further instructions in regards to which dock to use, and further estimates. Those people know their trade, and should be able to get your ship back to as good as new.

The Aland shipwrights should handle the final repair costs locally. I expect it to be roughly the cost of a new Atlas, minus a good portion consisting of the parts you've gathered and framework of the "LosSnuggleros". I don't see a reason to incur an extra cost, on top of what Aland requires. So, with that, safe skies.
