I intend to try to use none...unless you request that I do, though.
I think that we ought to either nerf the Noman Cannons/Blasters or we make them "Codie-like." Aka, put them on specific drop sites around Sirius for people to pick them up.
Actually...after some thought... we should just friggin nerf them.
Why the hell do they like not use any energy at all? They are weapons modified to be used on human ships. They should use a heckload more energy.

I only use them on my Raven Claw, because they look good with Prometheuses. The reason I mainly don't use 'em, and discourage people using 'em is simple: Keepers. 'Nuff said. Especially when you're two jumps from The Ravine...
"I didn't know BHG were involved in nomad studies, is that from ingame footage or just some RP?" (equinox)
@Equinox: that is ingame lore. its the reason the BHG and order dislike each other. they clash when they both do deep space operations for nomad tech. order considers BHG irresponsible to attain such high tech and the BHG simply does not like others to fight them when they are going for stuff. ( order sort of claims to have the responsibility over nomad tech - and wishes to "distribute" it in bits to others - on a base of whats reasonalbe and responsible, BHG just makes a business ouf ot it )
it says so somehwere in the ID or rumors - can t remember, but its ingame and not thought out roleplay.
edit: their capital ship fleet is sort of build for that purpose ( nomad and deep space operations ) for their usual head hunt and pirates hunt they use the hammerheads ( you won t see many destroyers in gamma - but in delta you do, cause there are nomads )
Sorry, but i can't read these threads anymore. Removing all Nomad equipment to Keeper and Wild bases would be the best solution. Same goes for Order and Corsair turrets, but not to Keepers and Nomads of course. Order turrets only sold on Order bases, while Corsair turrets only sold on Corsairs bases.
I also cannot read the lame oorp exaggeration "Zoners sell it." anymore. Its "!Roleplay!" and not "!Zoners sell it!" server.

Serious answer: When I saw "I also cannot read the lame oorp exaggeration," I thought the next phrase would say "I stole it." Anyway, I agree with you.
Not-so-serious answer: This may not be a "!Zoners sell it!" server, but there sure are a lot of Zoner zealots around here.
I fail to see how the use of Nomad turrets is OORP. They are sold at a Zoner base are they not? Therefore they must have somehow been engineered to function mechanically. If anything the Nomad blasters and cannons would be the OORP weapons. The only way to obtain them is from destroyed Nomad ships, therefore no human alterations have been performed on them.
Put yourself into your character. You land on Planet Primus and venture over to the equipment dealer. He shows you something called a Nomad turret that he has for sale and that it can in fact be mounted on your ship. Sure it has its risks, but what the hay right. I know Twinkies are bad for my health, but they're sold at 7-11, so if I want to buy and eat one, I damn well will.
Personally, if you can, in RP, land on the base, you should be able to buy and mount any equipment that is sold there. If it is really viewed as OORP, than it should no longer be sold there. Igiss put it there and is really the creator for the basic guidelines of what is and what isnt in RP. Keep in mind I said guidelines, not out and out regulations.
There's more I wanted to add to that but I got interupted and lost my train of thought. Anyway, that basically lines out my OPINION on the matter.
<span style="color:#FF0000"><strike>RETIRED</strike></span>
ON MY WAY OUT OF RETIREMENT
Okay...the reason why I find them OORP is because of the fact that they are even available.
It's just my two cents, but I just find them overused. At this point in time, almost everyone who can find and afford nomad weps have them.
Frankly, do you think that everyone is that enthusiastic about experimenting with these new weapons? And whats the point of other guns if the nomad guns are so good?
I find them OORP simply because they endanger the RP of other guns.

Actually, Nomad Blasters are retrofitted to work on Valkyries and Wraths by Das Wilde, so they're kosher for us humies too. Plus, they actually look mechanical on your ship, not squishy.
Yeah, I guess I agree with elgato. My SCRA VHF uses Nomads, as do my bombers. My Templar doesn't though!:P
