Thats all you've ever said to a trader, I've witnessed it about 12 times, most of them in Kyushu and NT where there happens to be an absence of Corsair NPCs.
Don't try to preach flase RP here.
Anyway, I think that rules should be amended to allow pirates to fire on a trader if he continues to run after a pirate tells him to halt. Though to be honest, it only takes about 3-4 seconds to right a cash demand. If they do halt, you can elaborate it and make it more of an RP demand. Disrupt timers last 5 seconds before the trader can engage it again, so hit them with a CD right before typing. Also, if they do manage to get close to the end of the cruise start-up, you can always hit the Esc button and it will close the chat.
I say that after I say make a small donation. I usally go like this.
"Halt"
Once they halt I say
"Mind making a small donation"
Sometimes I will also say
"I am nothing but a poor pirate"
Then I always say
"2mil for your life and cargo"
the 2mil part comes after I say atleast 2 of those things. You are mistaken if you think thats all I say. Granted sometimes I do but thats only when Wild or things like that are shooting me. I have taxed in NT and Kyushu like once? I mainly pirate in Sigma-13.

yup - unfair is stacked in some of the rules in game - (see an earlier thread about cap ships, lawful capships can engage smugglers but pirate ones can't engage traders - fair much? i think not.. anyway....)
I think Rp needs to come into play in all PVP engagements - thats just my opinion. If a pirate sees a Bounty hunter in one of their ZOI systems, he can have a fairly reasonable suspicion that that BH is there to kill either him, or one of his friends - if you're a bounty hunter in Omicron Gamma or Alpha.. i think you can assume with a fair degree of certainty that if the locals find you, they are going to fight you.
That being said, some dialogue is always nice - i am guilty of going into PVP with some bounty hunters without much conversation at times, but usually thats in response to them engaging me. I have also been fired upon by BH ships with no warning quite a few times.
Other times, i've intervened in fights that were already taking place, so.. seeing my mates being shot up by bounty Hunters is really a bit of an incentive to start shooting at them in return.
But, there have been quite a few occasions where i've let bounty hunters walk, if they don't approach me or obviously look like they are leaving the system... usually i follow them with some hearty taunts :)
