So ever since I was in middle school (which is an eternity ago) I've been making music through a program called "E-Jay". This program uses sample sounds put together to make music. In the newer models you could actually synthesize music and add that to the listing of your sample sounds. Well, I've graduated past that just today.
I ordered a synthesizer. Brand new too, not even used.
So, if anyone around here has some skill with doing that with a keyboard (I ordered the M-Audio Venom), any help would be appreciated in that fact. I get it in about six days or so, maybe longer depending on when the Honduran government sorts through the mail in customs (currently stationed in Honduras). I'm so stoked to get this thing that I'm freakin' out.
If anyone wants a link to more information about it, let me know.
No helpful suggestions from anyone here? Someone on Discovery has HAD to at least tried a synthesizer in the past. If not I guess I'll have to learn on my own and come back here with some tunes to blow all your minds eh?
I have a friend who's an accredited Audio Engineer and three more on the cusp of getting their degrees, next time I see them I'll get the low down for you.

That's funny, I was just now looking into ordering a new synth myself -
Personally looking at the Korg X50 ATM, bit tired of only having softsynths
that I can't access outside my computer... Quite impractical if I actually
want to play with someone, which I'm planning on doing pretty soon.
I've got a Korg X-50, quite a fun thing to play with, but it doesn't have a sequencer (though its arrpegiator is also a nice enrighment) so I use it mainly as a live instrument.
If you're looking for some tips, I recommend visiting Space4Keys or Progsounds, where you'll surely find some synth tutorials, tips, and even sound patches and samples

Thanks for the tip! I already knew I could get some good patches at Space4Keys, but I didn't know they had tutorials. The fact that it's missing a sequencer isn't really a concern to me, as at home it'll pretty much always be plugged into a computer anyways, and I'll be using it mostly live instrument too.

I'm not sure Space4keys has that many tutorials, they're mainly focused on patch creation, but they should be helpful when it comes to useful advice concerning whatever you need:)
